toast21602
Picked up a pair of BCA Magic Carpet skins (thanks to AH) for my Head Cyclic 115s. Just got them delivered yesterday and decided to cut them down and prep them for use in Utah. I've heard and read horror stories about skin trimming so I knew it was going to be an interesting night. The instructions that came with are a bit ghetto so it seemed like it would be trial and error. The trimmings continued and soon enough I was ready to move on to the next ski. Pretty painless with the tool that came with it. Took me about 90 minutes start to finish. Then decided to take them up and around Mt. Mik for a spin. Definitely a different feeling walking around with a free heel and skins. Excited to actually put these to solid use. Overcame some wild terrain, but in the end, I made it back safely. The worst part of the whole process was stripping them down and packing them up, but even that wasn't too bad. Now time for a beer. Keep it real around here...

Johnny Law
You did great not too many people on here know what an accomplishment cutting skins is. Kinda like first flat fix out in the field on a bike except you only get one chance.
