I went. It was fun. Good snow. Not much on west side open though. I haven't been since 2005 so it was cool to go back. The place definitely felt smaller than I remember. It sucks that they can't follow through with their old expansion plans as the place could be huge if the government would allow that land swap. That's my feeling on the Catskills in general. The mountains are huge and they are so close to nyc, I can't believe none of the larger mountains were developed. (Yes I know bearpen sort of was).

Clouds started to roll in which turned to rain. On the road out I decided to check out kaaterskill falls, which was borderline stupid since the trail was sheer ice.

Somehow it was warmer in the Catskills than the Poconos and north jersey, as the temperature dropped and snow started as soon as I crossed the border, and mountain creek reported a powder day.
