Ski2Live Live2Ski
Yeah may decide it's not worth it. But speculating is entertaining and building the stoke. Picked up my kids season rentals, dropped of my skis for a tune, and ordered the Mountain sports premium membership with 2 shawnee tix for 55 this weekend. GrilledSteezeSandwich
You realize if Abasin is even open later this month which is not a guarentee it's just gonna be one very easy run of less than 1k of vert???
GrilledSteezeSandwich
No decent snowmaking temperatures this week at Abasin. ABasin doesn't have any lodging but you can stay in Dillon or Silverthorne for $70 a night. The run they'll have open is not as good as Main Street at blue. TP4 the white ribbon of death they'll have open won't be that bumped up due to lack of pitch prob just alot of push piles.
Ski2Live Live2Ski
Ok sounds like Zermatt or stay home then. Any thoughts on what they or others in the Alps have to offer this early?
toast21602
is the bridge open yet?
GrilledSteezeSandwich
I would do Zermatt, they have 21km of on piste terrain for year round skiing. I don't know how much vacation time you get at your new job but a shame you can't start a week earlier in exchange for an extra week you can take mid winter. Ski2Live Live2Ski
Pretty good amount of vaca time, but don't know how they are about actually taking it and would rather be nose to the grindstone a bit when I start rather than coming in asking about scheduling vacation. Ride Delaware ?
Earliest opening at LL was a couple years ago on Oct. 17? I believe the run there is significantly better than what they offer at A Basin, but since it's twice the vert and just as wide, it takes longer to cover. They don't even have enough firepower to run the whole run at once. I'm hoping to hit Killington late October since Rime only needs about 12-18 hours to be skiable, but temps aren't looking favorable for that either... Barb
Been very warm here in CO. Definitely no snow making temps anytime soon. This weekend supposed to be gorgeous in the 70's and sunny.

GrilledSteezeSandwich
He's wishcasting again poconoOceanCity is an early season star. Will drive 3 hours for freedom park at big boulder but won't go to blue when its 100% in march. Projected opening dates mean nothing. Anything before XMAS is bonus. GrilledSteezeSandwich
I said anything before XMAS is bonus. Some years we only get a few days in before then. Some years a whole month n
Ski2Live Live2Ski
Not doing Europe now. Am talking with some folks about possibly doing it in Feb when it will be more worthwhile. If I get in any Oct turns I expect it will be Killington. No firm source on Killington but there are a lot of people chattering on Alpinezone forum about it. Sunday River is the only place that has made an announcement. Who wants to carpool to Killington the weekend of 24th to 25th if they open? Isn't there some budget ski hostel up there? NMSKI
Anything decent before Xmas is a bonus. Of course every place is gonna have one icy run open no matter what.
poconoceancity
I think we will be on the snow in PA in November again this year. It will be the new norm.

If I go for the K it will be driving up the 23rd and skiing and driving back the 24th. Just made plans to leave for Jamaica on the 25th. You staying at club hedonism?
