Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted December 8, 2015 Report Posted December 8, 2015 As someone without VIP line priviliges, I will almost always choose CB over Blue on a weekend day. Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted December 8, 2015 Report Posted December 8, 2015 (edited) blue seems to get larger weekday crowds than camelback. The few times I made Wednesday morning last season I saw lift lines and was like "why did I wake up early for this?" I feel like blue isnt busy on weekday mornings but weekday afternoons can be busy. It's tough for me not to be there for the fresh cord Edited December 8, 2015 by GrilledSteezeSandwich Quote
toast21602 Posted December 8, 2015 Report Posted December 8, 2015 Nothing will be open Christmas week at Blue. Enjoy the time with your families. Like I said before, God told me January 3rd. 2 Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted December 8, 2015 Report Posted December 8, 2015 I'm surprised at how busy blue is on weekday mornings. Not even a point of going up in the morning, probably just as many people there as an afternoon Morning is better for smoother conditions and empty early runs. Alot of the weekday people don't have jobs. I'm gonna be up as much as I can weekdays this season. Quote
Johnny Law Posted December 8, 2015 Report Posted December 8, 2015 There is a possibility of a break around the 17th, not much but three or four days with lows in the upper 20's so maybe the could get something open for Christmas. Then it appears right about Christmas we get some reasonable weather....... Quote
NMSKI Posted December 8, 2015 Report Posted December 8, 2015 I'm gonna try to set aside one week night each week to come up. I was slacking last year. 1 Quote
toast21602 Posted December 9, 2015 Report Posted December 9, 2015 Another inversion. Blowing down below but nothing on vista. Get that triple chair open!!! Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted December 9, 2015 Report Posted December 9, 2015 Well at least Jim has had plenty of time to get the lifts inspected!!! 1 Quote
indiggio Posted December 9, 2015 Report Posted December 9, 2015 They'll run Valley School Triple for Christmas just to avoid having to refund season passes. Valley School West will have park features, East flat. 1 Quote
indiggio Posted December 9, 2015 Report Posted December 9, 2015 They made a video of what it's going to be like skiing Blue this year... 3 Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted December 9, 2015 Report Posted December 9, 2015 If blue opens with just valley school west I'll come up and hang in lot and leave my ski gear at home. The shit is becoming comical...guns are already shut off five overnights with some snowmaking just a few patches on home stretch. Lower Main Street looks good though. Maybe they can build a stunt ditch on there. Quote
Shadows Posted December 9, 2015 Report Posted December 9, 2015 Pretty comical I dont ski though so whatevs Quote

Kyle Posted December 9, 2015 Report Posted December 9, 2015 Blues season passes aren't pro rated? I know most places have a XX day guarantee and give you a percentage off of nexts years pass for each day they fall short of said number. Quote

GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted December 9, 2015 Report Posted December 9, 2015 The only places I've heard of that are elk and Bear Creek. Quote
poconoceancity Posted December 9, 2015 Report Posted December 9, 2015 BC will struggle to get 75 days this season. Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted December 9, 2015 Report Posted December 9, 2015 BC will struggle to get 75 days this season. That's about a normal amount for BC... Quote
poconoceancity Posted December 9, 2015 Report Posted December 9, 2015 The last 3 seasons were 12/15ish to 3/15ish Quote

Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted December 9, 2015 Report Posted December 9, 2015 (edited) Belleayre reopening tomorrow same terrain as last weekend. Bottom line, if you aren't starting your skison by this weekend, you don't want it that bad :-) Edited December 9, 2015 by Ski2Live Live2Ski 1 Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted December 9, 2015 Report Posted December 9, 2015 (edited) The last 3 seasons were 12/15ish to 3/15ishIn 2012 BC opened December 30th but that was also a terrible start for Blue. Vista only in early December and then shutdown for three weeks and vista only when they reopened December 26th. Belleayre reopening tomorrow same terrain as last weekend. Bottom line, if you aren't starting your skison by this weekend, you don't want it that bad :-) I'd rather spend the time and cash to travel in mid winter and in april when lots of terrain is open than drive 3+ hours for one trail at Belleayre. I've been there done that with travelling far for a white ribbon of death. I'm not tripping. I'm planning on 18-20 days total out west this season. I can wait a few more weeks for Blue to open.
