I wonder what kind of stupid trail names they will come up with...

Expand

it should be themed. Switchback is cool because it pays homage to local history. They should continue that there with that pod over there. I’m thinking “Mauch” and “Chunk” would be like the front two (like goat and Starr at Stowe). They can call the intersection that crosses in the middle “Route 209”. Then for the others, there could be Mollys run (for Molly McGuires of course)…Molly's of course would be a nice cruiser. they could a name a race trail “Olympian” to honor the man himself (Jim Thorpe), and BMR folks could migrate out that way and give razors back to the gen pop. if there are beginner trails in the new pod, they can name them to honor our local cuisine. There could be “Pierogi and French fry”….the teaching hill. And when you advance past “PFF” you move to  “Yueng’s and Wings” the intermediate, the next level trails for newbs. @Blue Mountain call me…I have lots of good ideas

Gotta ask, does she just your balls yet about skiing this little bump in palmerton while she has snowbowl.

She’s literally forgotten about PA for pretty much everything outdoors. I don’t blame her either. I was telling Barb recently she’s obsessed with rock climbing now.

I used to be that optimistic.

Is lower main gonna make or break your experience?  I’m one of those it’s all about the base people cause seen too many ski seasons where they either had to close a few days or down to almost nothing cause spread so thin…one more cold spell like this before Xmas they’ll be like 2/3 open

My daughter is in from AZ Christmas week and she’s getting skis for Christmas so looks like my 2 buddy passes are gonna be used that week. There are no blackout dates on the buddy passes

Pretty sure no blackout dates but there does need to be capacity. Buddy pass essentially acts like a voucher to make the cart $0 when you are checking out, so there's gotta be a ticket available to put in the cart.

Pretty socked in at the base right now with that snow cloud.  Agree with @DiMe... I think we will get lower main and midway.  I have a hard time believing that they would open without those runs.  In other news, I went up last night to take a quick look and it is hard to tell but they may have been blowing on lazy.

Lower doesnt look great for a Friday opening for sure.  Maybe Sat/Sun.

When they shut down today, that will be it i think until Thursday PM.  Thursday Pm to Sunday AM look good with maybe some afternoon breaks.  But then it gets a little sporadic over the next week, so hopefully they can get some more open and have a decent base on things.

Jf is three turns at medium speed and back on the lift for 2332 minutes. Lift speed to vert rise should be a stat

Actually 90 seconds down, 7 minutes up.   Turns per run varied from 23 to 44 on 167 skis.  JF lifts were a lot faster than Blue’s today. 😎
