Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Seems like they are closer to the snow zone than Blue for this weekend. Wondering if they tend to leave any trails ungroomed when the fresh stuff falls or pack it all down quickly. Last time I was there it was still Doe but might check it out again Sunday if they will have lots of fluff. Quote

Sunday is a stretch though as they'll groom Saturday night and you'll only have a few inches of fresh stuff. 2 Quote

Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted January 22, 2016 Author Report Posted January 22, 2016 Where does one look for skiable trees at BC? Quote
thedude4bides Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Where does one look for skiable trees at BC? To the left of grizzly, in between broadway and easy street, and between timberline and broadway. Wouldn't recommend until next snowstorm. 1 Quote
PASKIINGSUCKS Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Depends how nice you want your bases and edges to stay haha. 3 Quote

mbike-ski Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 never ski'd but mtb'd those trails - would think you'd need 2' base to ski them rocks! 1 Quote

guitar73 Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 looks like the groomers are out right now....derp. Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 Prob be more snow from one storm than bear creek has ever received. 1 Quote
Kyle Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 They're claiming 16 inches so far. Yeah fucking right. Quote

GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 They're claiming 16 inches so far. Yeah fucking right. Why isn't that believable. Totals on accuwearher forums are in the 12-16" range for that area. Quote
guitar73 Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 i don't doubt 16 inches are on the ground...but that could be wind transported snow. Quote
Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted January 23, 2016 Author Report Posted January 23, 2016 How are roads from 309 or Tpk to BC today? Quote
momskeeztoo Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 They're claiming 16 inches so far. Yeah fucking right. I live right outside Quakertown. Our weather and Bears are usually about the same. We have about 18 inches so far, still coming down heavy. Quote

momskeeztoo Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 Not that much at 7 am, but there was a lot. I wonder how the road is from 29 and 100 up to Bear. Quote
Kyle Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 Not that much at 7 am, but there was a lot. I wonder how the road is from 29 and 100 up to Bear.Probably horrible as that road seems to always be on the back burner. Quote
momskeeztoo Posted January 23, 2016 Report Posted January 23, 2016 Hope they clear it by tomorrow am. My tires are kinda not so good. Quote
PASKIINGSUCKS Posted January 24, 2016 Report Posted January 24, 2016 If it's that bad you can always go north on 100 into shimerville and take a left at the light there, I think it's less of a straight uphill that way. I used to take huffs church just to avoid all the gapers driving up state st. from turkey hill. I didn't get out today, watching the step son and shoveling. we found out on the drive home last night that during my engine swap me and my buddy missed something as I have no 4wd. Knew I should have checked that before this storm. 1 Quote
momskeeztoo Posted January 24, 2016 Report Posted January 24, 2016 Yeah, you'd think the township would keep the road clear. I'm sure they get a lot of tax revenue from Bear. Or is State Street a Penndot road? Quote
momskeeztoo Posted January 25, 2016 Report Posted January 25, 2016 Bear was nice this am. Sasquatch, Grizzly, Extreme and top of Kodiak left ungroomed. Snow was pretty deep, and after several spectacular face plants, I started to get the hang out it. Never skied in anything that deep before. They got crazy crowded in the afternoon. Glad I got out early. If anyone was up early enough, did you see the moon this morning? Looked great with all that fresh, untouched snow. Quote
momskeeztoo Posted January 25, 2016 Report Posted January 25, 2016 Oh, and I also saw a flock of snow geese flying there today. I don't see them very often. Quote
