Ski Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 Chest high waves without too much chop made for some good rides today on LBI...tomorrow AM should be out of control. Temps were in the mid-90's on the dunes, then 70's near the water. Irene kicked up some deep water and dropped the surface temp enough to be on the cold-side. Spent the day on a 5'9" Surf Prescriptions. How did I forget my wet shirt? Waves were too big for the kid, so she had some late afternoon balance practice in Barnegate Bay on my Custom X. Awesome day! Quote
poconoceancity Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 Waves in OCNJ were a solid waste with plenty of chest high sets...monster shore break made the inside rough at high tide. They called everyone out of the water twice during high tide at the swimming beach next to where we were out, because guards were pulled to assist in rescues on adjacent blocks. Quote

If it is really gnarly in the morning, I'm going to boogieboard. There's just something about riding the shoulders of big waves uber close up; sort of like Superman the Ride. Quote
Papasteeze Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 Shore breaks can be a back breaker, for sure.. The wave pool at CB was mad fun!!!!! NOT! Quote

Justin Posted August 16, 2005 Report Posted August 16, 2005 I was going to head up to skim - but I didn't. I'm going to OCMD the 20th with the Family, probably nothing special there but I'll bring the skim just in case. Quote
