zzslope Posted January 25, 2016 Report Posted January 25, 2016 Just looked at the cams at blue, there are a lot of people there, looks like a weekend. Quote
indiggio Posted January 25, 2016 Report Posted January 25, 2016 I hear it's a shit-show up there, with all the schools being closed. Quote
toast21602 Posted January 25, 2016 Report Posted January 25, 2016 Completely forgot about all the schools being closed... Quote
thedude4bides Posted January 25, 2016 Report Posted January 25, 2016 Should thin out by evening... I hope! Quote
tnt Posted January 25, 2016 Report Posted January 25, 2016 Oh jeez. Based on the awesomeness of my day there yesterday, I sent some friends there today....'won't be crowded. It's a weekday....' Oops. Quote
tnt Posted January 25, 2016 Report Posted January 25, 2016 There is a pic of the ticket line going outside the lodge into the street: http://forums.alpinezone.com/showthread.php/137669-So-who-s-planning-to-ski-where-Sunday?p=932269&viewfull=1#post932269 post 26. Quote
indiggio Posted January 25, 2016 Report Posted January 25, 2016 No wonder they don't have the webcams pointing at lift lines anymore! Quote
Shadows Posted January 25, 2016 Report Posted January 25, 2016 Wow glad i decided to be cheap today. Plus my car was still stuck Quote
thedude4bides Posted January 25, 2016 Report Posted January 25, 2016 Blue is extending lift tickets by 2 hours per their FB page for those that waited in line. Too bad for those that had to leave at a certain time. Quote
tnt Posted January 25, 2016 Report Posted January 25, 2016 it must be unbearable. We skied about 10:30 -3 yesterday. Ticket line was contained in the building all day. Crowds at the valley lifts were a mass of humanity about 20 feet past the ticket turnstiles. But once you got past them and into the singles line, it moved quick enough. Jeez, I can only imagine what it's like today. Burma lift was the shortest line. maybe 10 minutes tops. But that lift is pretty slow...Main street chair was pretty mobbed all day. Which always confuses me...just push around to the other side.... Blue is extending lift tickets by 2 hours per their FB page for those that waited in line. Too bad for those that had to leave at a certain time. 2 more hours = 2 more runs.... Quote
toast21602 Posted January 25, 2016 Report Posted January 25, 2016 Good for them. I'm rethinking tonight... Quote
thedude4bides Posted January 25, 2016 Report Posted January 25, 2016 I'll probably go. The worst that will happen is I do two runs and drink a beer. Quote
toast21602 Posted January 25, 2016 Report Posted January 25, 2016 I'll probably go. The worst that will happen is I do two runs and drink a beer. Sounds tragic! Quote
Rex Goliath Posted January 25, 2016 Report Posted January 25, 2016 I was at Blue yesterday. 10 minute lines just to get in the men's room in the Valley Lodge. Parking was painful. Remarkably, everyone seemed cheerful though! Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted January 25, 2016 Report Posted January 25, 2016 Wow just wow and I imagine every day will be crowded at blue till the next thaw. I imagine some schools will be closed all week due to busing. Quote
tnt Posted January 25, 2016 Report Posted January 25, 2016 image.jpeg Wow just wow and I imagine every day will be crowded at blue till the next thaw. I imagine some schools will be closed all week due to busing. I'm dying to see a pick of the six pack lines. Quote
thedude4bides Posted January 25, 2016 Report Posted January 25, 2016 Sounds tragic! With the late start I feel so far behind and am constantly playing this never-ending game of "catch up". It's like those dreams where you try to run but never get anywhere and, therefore, I feel compelled to ski everyday. It is tragic. It's hard to stop myself. I have a problem. Quote
Kyle Posted January 25, 2016 Report Posted January 25, 2016 image.jpeg Wow just wow and I imagine every day will be crowded at blue till the next thaw. I imagine some schools will be closed all week due to busing. No way they're closed all week. Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted January 25, 2016 Report Posted January 25, 2016 No way they're closed all week. No? Schools were closed for an entire week after the blizzard of 96 but snow removal technology has to be better now. I imagine a lot of the people at Blue haven't skied in a few years. Very casual skiers and riders who need a blizzard to come out of the woodwork. Quote

GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted January 25, 2016 Report Posted January 25, 2016 Doesn't even look like the waffle cabin is open. Wow just wow Quote
larrytbull Posted January 25, 2016 Report Posted January 25, 2016 Doesn't even look like the waffle cabin is open. Wow just wow yeah i have not seen it open this year yet. Luckily I ordered 24 waffles from their online shop and have a stash for when kids want a really good waffle. Pricey but good! Quote

I sent extreme skier babe Lynsey dyer this message on Facebook. She read it but didn't respond. Quote
