thedude4bides Posted February 4, 2016 Report Posted February 4, 2016 Not much detail provided. Was he wearing a helmet? Was there a collision with another skier/rider? What was his ability? What terrain? Need to find a patroller with the inside scoop... 2 Quote
phillycore Posted February 4, 2016 Report Posted February 4, 2016 That sucks....never like hearing anything like this. Did anyone else notice that he was from Tacoma, WA. Quote
toast21602 Posted February 4, 2016 Report Posted February 4, 2016 Saw that. Wasn't sure what that was about. Visiting? School out here? Drug trafficker? Who knows. Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted February 4, 2016 Report Posted February 4, 2016 Someone on the morning call Facebook page said he was wearing a helmet. Someone also commented that this is why they hate skiing cause it's dangerous. Hmmm does the person hate care cause 35,000 people in the US die every year in car crashes. Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted February 4, 2016 Report Posted February 4, 2016 You sound like vtmark... Hehehehehehe Quote
skifreak Posted February 4, 2016 Author Report Posted February 4, 2016 The Morning Call makes me laugh. When I first posted this, the article was just posted online and usually they add more to the article as time goes on. This article they added nothing to. We got 3 short sentences that basically state: A guy went skiing at Blue Mountain. He got hurt in some way and was taken to the hospital. He died 3 days later. I honestly don't know what the point of the article was, except to give bad press to Blue Mountain. 2 Quote
VTmark Posted February 4, 2016 Report Posted February 4, 2016 damned shame. Anyone know the last time someone died from Blue mtn? Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted February 4, 2016 Report Posted February 4, 2016 damned shame. Anyone know the last time someone died from Blue mtn? I think two seasons ago and statistically based on skier visits they have a death every 2-3 years. There's approximately one death per one million skier visits or about 50-60 per season in the United States m Quote
skifreak Posted February 4, 2016 Author Report Posted February 4, 2016 So here are more articles. Looks like he died of Blunt Force Trauma to his head. http://www.lehighvalleylive.com/news/index.ssf/2016/02/man_dies_following_skiing_acci.html http://www.wfmz.com/news/poconos-coal-region/Washington-man-dies-in-skiing-accident-at-Blue-Mountain/37814154 Quote
indiggio Posted February 4, 2016 Report Posted February 4, 2016 I heard same thing happened to a patroller some years back. Fell, hit his head, thought he was fine, a few days later he didn't report to work and they found him dead at home. Traumatic Brain Injury... Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted February 4, 2016 Report Posted February 4, 2016 The same way Natasha Richardson died. Quote
