skidude Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 What is your favorite hit in the park? I did almost all of them but I just went threw there once. They all were sweet. Quote
SomeGuyWhoSkis Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 Did you do any tricks? or just jump? Anyway, I like the hip jumps. But the landings on the jumps ice up quick. I finnaly landed a 90 degree grind on their box rail. Some snowboard kids we're hitting up the rail and tearing themselves new ass-holes. It was great. Quote
skidude Posted January 30, 2004 Author Report Posted January 30, 2004 Haha I mostly just jump...I will do a few small tricks, tail grab, umm something I don't know what its called when u have your tips go up and down, every once in a while Ill throw in an iron cross. But mostly just go for air. Quote
BigWig Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 They did something to the hips, the take-off is a lot nicer, but it's so easy to overshoot the landing. And is it just me, or is the double a lot smaller now? Quote
skidude Posted January 30, 2004 Author Report Posted January 30, 2004 Hips? Do you mean hits or does hips mean something in umm park language. Yeah once you know the layout of everything I bet it would be really easy to clear. Quote
BigWig Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 Yes hips, I guess snowboarder lingo, lol? The hips are the small jumps on either side right before the double (hit with gap). Quote
nick malozzi Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 i liked the hips. they were fun and a good change. i wonder who that kid was who recomended they put hips in again this year? cough me cough! haha. they actually listened! (i think?) Quote
endangeredpedestrian Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 the table after the hips is sweet. but my favorite features are the boxes, easily. i've learned so many new tricks on them, they're great. Quote
skidude Posted January 30, 2004 Author Report Posted January 30, 2004 Do you mean on the jumps where there is the steeper lip that sorta comes off the jump? Quote
skidude Posted January 30, 2004 Author Report Posted January 30, 2004 In that case. I love those things Quote
AtomicSkier Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 then glenn was pretty nice. i was impressed Quote
nick malozzi Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 yea the hits in the other park are getting there. however, whats the deal with putting that fence in at the top of the park? its like impossible to get some good speed going to hit the first table top. anyway, the first hit in rhodo was really sick last night. people were going off on that thing. my buddy ian (skiier), no lie, prolly got about 35-40 feet of air of it. over shot the landing a lil. but it proves that thing has lots of potential! endangeredpedestrian Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 i think you're over exagerating on the ft. of air he got. and you can only go about 25-30 until the flat if you go straight. 40 feet lengthwise means you'd have to cut it to the right. and for reference, the cheese wedge in the middle is 35 ft. from the kicker to the landing. Quote
nick malozzi Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 i wasnt refering to length, and i am not lieing to you on the height estimation. if you know greg kester (board instructor at blue) ask him. he was standing right next to me when ian did it. we both looked at eachother and almost shit our pants. we thought for sure once we got to the other side of the jump he would be splattered out on the trail with skiis and poles all over the place. but when we got to the other side he was standing there just brushing a lil snow off himself. (atomic, no he isn't that good, haha, thats y it was such a shock. the kid has about as much fear as price and if u tell him to do something he just does it. me and him went down cliffy and i dont think he untucked or carved at any point down it. i struggled to keep up with him. not that i am fast, but i have a few more years on him and he gave me quite a ride to keep up.) just to restate myself, no he really did go that high. maybe 40 is a lil high, but he hit 35 i can gurantee it. AtomicSkier Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 haha ill have to ask greg. holy crap, thats impressive. Quote
