Thanks in advance! Quote

Thanks in advance! Snow should be pretty good. It's been snowing all evening up here nothing like major just I'd say a coating at least. We're blowing snow tomorrow night across the mountain. Judging from the weather this weekend it'll be more on the spring like conditions side of things. I'll be out on hill more tomorrow and can see what it'll be like. We still have snow but blowing to freshen it up after the rain. 1 Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted February 26, 2016 Report Posted February 26, 2016 Saturday winter conditions. Sunday spring conditions. Enjoy. Quote

C1erArt Posted February 26, 2016 Report Posted February 26, 2016 Just got back, everything is open and conditions are hard but not icey. Started blowing snow as we left. Challenge glade is pretty glazed over. Quote
RidgeRacer Posted February 27, 2016 Report Posted February 27, 2016 Serious question as I'm curious. Is the elevator, elevator glade etc even a "thing" anymore? I was at Frost only once this year before my injury but east mt wasn't open yet and last year (the few times I was there) the elevator was reminiscent of 6 or 7 years ago when it was a jungle. I'm assuming now that the race team has taken over East mt. the "good stuff" over there isn't a priority anymore but I'm really curious how things are looking. I have so many good memories skiing on east (vader, trees etc). Would be a shame if it got neglected again. Just wondering. Quote
poconoceancity Posted February 27, 2016 Report Posted February 27, 2016 They would need a 20 plus inch storm to make a thing again. Last season it was definitely in play. Quote
JFskiDan Posted February 27, 2016 Report Posted February 27, 2016 The elevator last year was rough. It got some snow put on it, then it rained and froze. It wouldnt hold any kind of snow. It needed a hair cut bad last year, and from what i was told, there wasnt much maintenance there this year, supposedly the E glade needs cleaned out. I spent some time last year cleaning it out some, but its hard to do when shit you are trying to pull out is under several inches of man made. I miss skiing that stuff too, but i dont regret my decision to go to blue at all. Quote
C1erArt Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 They widened Rivershot at the entrance to elevator glade, making the drop in very narrow, and they didn't blow any snow over there, concentrating on the last drop of Rivershot. So the glade has been all rocks. I think the race team use of East mountain hasn't been too bad since they have been off this other mountain races quite a bit. Any effort to widen Rivershot helps - I hate having to stop and peer over the edge to see if it is blocked. But I've been avoiding weekends except Sunday late afternoons Quote
JFskiDan Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 ^^ take some pics sometime of the widening of rivershot. 1 Quote
