C1erArt Posted March 8, 2016 Report Posted March 8, 2016 Looks like the poor winter hit Alpine Mountain pretty hard, gross revenues less than half of last year. Puts Jack Frost's increase in adult season passes in a new light: http://www.poconorecord.com/article/20160305/NEWS/160309724/0/SEARCH *bankruptcy Quote
poconoceancity Posted March 8, 2016 Report Posted March 8, 2016 I'm happy about JFs new pass. I might hit hunter this year and already get my extra $100 back. Plus under last years prices I would have had to pay $399 for my 5 year old, the new pass is only $60 for her. Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted March 8, 2016 Report Posted March 8, 2016 Wow what a risky venture. Buying a tiny Pennsylvania ski resort. I'll stick to tombstones. It's been a mild winter but people keep on dying. Quote
Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 (edited) While the story above indicated they hoped to still open this year, I see they are no longer on the Pocono Ski and Ride Card (still a good deal with tix to 5 resorts for a total of $65 or so) and their Web site is now unused. Not that it was worth driving that far for that level of skiing anyway. Edited November 10, 2016 by Ski2Live Live2Ski Quote

Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 (edited) Yep. Went there once because it was free on my card. Would not go again even for that price unless it was to teach a novice. But still a little sad for PA to lose another ski area. Edited November 10, 2016 by Ski2Live Live2Ski Quote

Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 Who's on the card this year? I am looking to join the Princeton ski club and snag a couple cards Blue Cbk Shawnee JFBB Big Bear. Good any day after Jan 4. Quote
enjoralas Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 Blue Cbk Shawnee JFBB Big Bear. Good any day after Jan 4. Thanks for the heads up. $65 you said? I have a Blue pass but could use the days there to bring a friend. I know I'll hit Camel a few times, and JFBB. Wouldn't mind trying Shawnee for giggles Quote
Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted November 10, 2016 Report Posted November 10, 2016 It is somewhere in the low to mid 60s. Plus 30 or so for the ski club. Best deal if you get more than one. Go to Shawnee when there is good snow cover and there are a lot of fairly easy spots to ski through trees which is fun, and they are permissive about that. Quote

Ride Delaware ? Posted November 13, 2016 Report Posted November 13, 2016 I've got a friend who was on patrol there. Everything is in flux. No offense taken. The bridge still keeps me up at night. 2 Quote

Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted January 26, 2017 Report Posted January 26, 2017 (edited) Now up for sale via Michael Baxter and Associates. Seeking offers of at least 750k through 2/15. If you were ever looking to own a beginner ski hill further away from population centers than other beginner ski hills in the region, this is your chance. And no doubt surrounded by white supremacist Trump voters. But hey the lodge was rennovated a year or two ago. Edited January 26, 2017 by Ski2Live Live2Ski Quote
