GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 My electric bill is like $30 a month during the non summer months so a windmill wouldn't matter to me. Quote
indiggio Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 Tell them to install these, no more whooshing.... http://www.vortexbladeless.com/ Quote
tarponhead Posted May 19, 2016 Report Posted May 19, 2016 Thats what i have read. I have a few friends who are like within 1500' of the proposed location, i am not quite that close, but i imagine i will still get to admire them from my house. I think the charm of being able to hear the soothing sound of them would wear off quick. Burke installed one on top of the mountain and you can get within a 100' of it or so. It does make a pronounced 'whooshing' noise up close. But I honestly don't remember hearing that thing a little ways down the hill. Quote
JFskiDan Posted May 20, 2016 Report Posted May 20, 2016 ya'll claim to love the environment but then protest and complain when cheap renewable energy that is good for the environment is proposed When you start selling cars that look like this, you have a valid statement. Quote
toast21602 Posted May 20, 2016 Report Posted May 20, 2016 There are ghetto cars in Allentown with spoilers that size. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 3 Quote
JFskiDan Posted May 20, 2016 Report Posted May 20, 2016 Lol I want the windmill one, I'll save $ on gas but probably won't clear 35mph and you have to go downhill more than uphill. Quote
Shadows Posted May 20, 2016 Report Posted May 20, 2016 What do you mean? The faster you go the faster it spins the more power you get. Just need a good solid push to get going, then let physics do the rest Quote
