Ride Delaware ? Posted June 19, 2016 Report Posted June 19, 2016 Anybody cut any of their own glades? I'm thinking of giving it a shot. Chutes vs open area? Anybody got any tips? Quote
Freeski919 Posted November 7, 2016 Report Posted November 7, 2016 In PA there's no point to cutting glades, there's never enough snow to ski them. If you're talking about in VT, there's no point because there are already plenty cut. And if you get too froggy with it you can end up in a mess of trouble like those dudes up at Jay a couple years ago. Quote

JFskiDan Posted November 7, 2016 Report Posted November 7, 2016 False...I've skied trees in PA many days spread out over the last several seasons. Like Feb 19th (???) 2014? That day was just like skiing in Vermont, without the drive. 2 Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted November 7, 2016 Report Posted November 7, 2016 Yup and the following season was good as well. Vermont usually has worse conditions than at Blue n Quote
Johnny Law Posted November 7, 2016 Report Posted November 7, 2016 PA your problem is mtn laurel and for that you really need a dr power mower, they don't get high scores in the stealth dept. As for VT, glade cutting is more a locals thing requiring detailed knowledge to preserve stealthy entrances with few exceptions I've found they do an excellent job. Quote
Ride Delaware ? Posted November 8, 2016 Author Report Posted November 8, 2016 Bolton has some awesome glades. I would love to get back there in an average snow year. Most of those were cut by locals. It's not really illegal to cut glades in VT as long as you aren't in a state or national forest. You just can't clear cut. Look at how much Magic cuts every year. Killington has done some massive trimming the past couple years. Quote
