$50 is cheap for a helicopter ride.

$50 is cheap.

Probably in the valley, take you straight up 500', then come right back down...

When I was little, I took a helicopter ride in an old M*A*S*H Bell helicopter at Muhlenburg carnival for $5 back in early 70's.

Took us all the way down 22 to Camel's Hump and back.

Just pilot, buddy and me.  No doors, just lap belt.  The good 'ol days!

Took a nice helicopter ride a few years back in Hawaii, Big Island. Flew out over the volcano, no visible eruptions but saw some surface flows. Paid extra for the chopper with doors off, guy hovered and tilted over the lava, you could feel the heat coming in the open doors. Really cool.

we have a 2013 loaded up taurus with 78,000 miles for $15,000.  i would price one with 25,000 miles prob sticker around $23,500 but actually sell it for like $21,500.  i dont do appraisals but that is my guess.

i sold 2 cars yesterday to the same guy but it wasnt my customer, i was just standing in for a salesmen who was off.  thus i get zero money and zero credit for those sales smh

Don't other dealers do the same thing for you. I remember you got some sales while you were in Europe.

i just spoke to this lady and she wants to get into a loaded up taurus with navigation, under 25,00 miles for under $15,000.  LOLLLLLLLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

putting her inquiry into the shredder right now

Sounds about right lol.

I don't even buy the new Taurus's. Really hard to even give them away.

You have to love people like that. Every one comes in with champagne taste and not even beer money. I had a guy here about a month ago with his wife trying to buy an Elantra. Mine had 20,000 miles, 1-owner, and clean carfax. He's trying to compare it to another one for less at my "competitor" AKA some poor credit dealership on the east side of Allentown. He failed to mention the other car had 57,000 miles, already had 2 owners, accident on carfax, and was a repo. Then his wife starts up with the, "I don't know honey, you really liked that other one at XYZ dealership we looked at yesterday" To which I replied, "Yeah, I really liked the people who came to see this car yesterday better."

I did not get the sale lol

There are some days I just want to go 100% wholesale and not deal with the public. It's so much easier to sell a car in 20 seconds when it rolls across the auction block.

Someone wants to buy a car and has money to spend on the best deal they can get. Not really seeing why they should care who gets the commission unless you are offering to split your commission with them. Its not like car salesmen are motivated by anything other than their self interest. Want the sale, be there at all times the dealer is open. You snooze you lose. No friends on powder days.

Sorry, I miss where being a used car salesman working on comission that has you trying to maximize the dollars you get from a customer is an altruistic occupation.

I am not behaving selfishly to you. I am describing the way the world works. In sales negotiations people on both sides are in it for themselves.

You seem to be living in some fantasy land where you believe that anyone you bring a cup of coffee while trying to sell them a car should owe some debt of loyalty to you.

And I haven't personally done this to anyone as I have never bought a used car from a dealer. I prefer not to deal with such people and would rather buy from owners.

I like selling tombstones cause the majority of people are uneducated on what our costs are so I can charge a pretty high markup. We get some people who haggle and shop around but they are the majority. Most buy through the funeral director who sell for us because they need to make up for lost revenue due to a falling death rate and falling cremation rate. Ski2Live are there any bonuses in the industry you work in??

Bonuses but not commission based.

I am not condemning anyone here for placing their own self interest first in a sales negotiation. My preference for buying from individuals is that cutting a dealers profit out tends to make the transaction better for buyer and seller, though it is less convenient. I do find high pressure sales tactics annoying and the combination of better deals available elsewhere and not dealing with such tactics outweighs the convenience of looking at many cars at a dealer.

Most people don't want to buy a car from an individual. Car could be a lemon and you typically don't get any warranty unless there is a balance of an old warrenty left. In selling a car I'd rather take a couple thousand less on the dealer trade in than dealer with the public in a private sale but everybody has their different preferences. My uncle who is very wealthy and has a $250,000 plane refuses to buy new cars so he buys one or two year old cars that were normally like $50,000 new for like $40,000 from the dealership.

holy shit you are a selfish person.  i know why, but I am not allowed to say it online.  i hope someone screws you out of money one day the way you have done to people

EDIT:  I was there and didnt get the sale, so next time read what i type before trying to shit on me.

Seriously you're at work all the time and the other guy got the sale..SMHerman. Wish I had some popcorn.

On the whole I do think skiing is a lot more awesome than snowboarding, but I don't believe I ever said you shouldn't snowboard. Certainly if you snowboard while others are selling cars, you will sell fewer cars.

Quoted for Truth!!!!
