JFskiDan Posted December 8, 2016 Report Posted December 8, 2016 Be better if it went to the main summit Its like the Gondola at Steamboat. you ride that once in the morning. More than that, as PC once said, "you're doing it wrong" Quote

More than that, as PC once said, "you're doing it wrong" Unless you want to ski the full vertical in one run...I did a 61,000 vert day at Jackson hole in 2007 including 16 gondola laps which is about 2700 vert...was a hard pack day. Most vertical I skied in a day since senior year in high school when I cracked 70K a few times at blue back when I'd put in 9-10 hour sessions. Edited December 8, 2016 by GrilledSteezeSandwich Quote
RidgeRacer Posted December 8, 2016 Report Posted December 8, 2016 All this talk of gondolas has me jonesing terribly. Sent from my 6070O using Tapatalk 2 Quote
Johnny Law Posted December 8, 2016 Report Posted December 8, 2016 Anyone else remember taking the old Killington Peak double and getting old wool army blankets thrown on them in sub-zero temps for the long ride? Outside of wildcat that was the coldest chair ever 1 Quote
tarponhead Posted December 9, 2016 Report Posted December 9, 2016 Outside of wildcat that was the coldest chair ever Never been to wildcat. I nominate the flyer at jay as coldest chair ever Quote

rummy Posted December 10, 2016 Report Posted December 10, 2016 Anyone else remember taking the old Killington Peak double and getting old wool army blankets thrown on them in sub-zero temps for the long ride?Rode that one day -5 at base -12 on top with 35mph winds, no blankets...A lot more common sense now. RootDKJ Posted December 13, 2016 Report Posted December 13, 2016 The old Soljourn Double lift at MC was a pretty cold one too. That ride would take 25+ minutes through GG to VV. Quote

This deal is reduced to $15 for a pair of tickets. It does a few days to a week to get vouchers in the mail for this one. Edited February 21, 2017 by enjoralas Quote

enjoralas Posted February 22, 2017 Author Report Posted February 22, 2017 Hope you get them before they close. It IS April after all. 1 Quote
RootDKJ Posted February 22, 2017 Report Posted February 22, 2017 How far do you live from the creek? Less than an hour. I'll go there when it's warm and empty. Quote
RootDKJ Posted March 15, 2017 Report Posted March 15, 2017 It's miserable here today. I've gotten two runs in. Gapers overwhelmed by the 'pow day' Sold the second voucher in the lift line for $20. 2 Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted March 15, 2017 Report Posted March 15, 2017 How long is that lift line for the cabriolet? Any other lift options? Quote
RootDKJ Posted March 15, 2017 Report Posted March 15, 2017 The triple was running but that line was just as bad. I did two runs, had two beers. Saw the line die down and did 4 more runs. Both Granite and South Peak lifts were closed. MC says the 24-30" they got wasn't enough snow to re-open those lifts. Wtf. Strike 3 1 Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted March 16, 2017 Report Posted March 16, 2017 Root I guess you won't be going back to MC. My dad learned to ski at Vernon Valley/Great Gorge. Quote
Featured Comment RootDKJ Posted March 16, 2017 Featured Comment Report Posted March 16, 2017 I won't be going back. The walk from the parking lot takes 6:30. Up this hill Down this path Welcome to Mountain Creek Just kidding, keep walking Up the ramp Over the highway Still walking to the lift 3 Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted March 16, 2017 Report Posted March 16, 2017 (edited) Wow just wow looks nearly impossible to ski back to your car. And doesn't look like 24-30" At least you didn't look like a gaper with your license plate. Edited March 16, 2017 by GrilledSteezeSandwich Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted March 16, 2017 Report Posted March 16, 2017 looks like a circus. Can sort of say that about the lower lodge at Blue. Quote
toast21602 Posted March 16, 2017 Report Posted March 16, 2017 Can sort of say that about the lower lodge at Blue. Oh absolutely. Its like carni-town there. I expect people to walk out of that pigmy colony juggling fried oreos. Quote
