NMSKI Posted December 13, 2016 Report Posted December 13, 2016 Anybody taken their skis for a tune/wax to the shop at blue? I have so much going on this year I don't have time to take care of 3 pairs of skis. I'm wondering if 1) they do a good job and 2) is the price decent? Buckmans is kind of expensive and you have to wait forever to get them back, plus it's an extra errand. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
JFskiDan Posted December 13, 2016 Report Posted December 13, 2016 Im a fan. I had a pair of skis tuned pre-season somewhere else, more local to where i used to ski. After they were tuned there, they were interesting to ski to say the least. I took them to Blue, and they straightened them out. I dropped them off 1st thing on a weekday, and was back on them the same day. Season pass discount as well. 1 Quote
RootDKJ Posted December 13, 2016 Report Posted December 13, 2016 (edited) I built a new "portable" ski tuning bench yesterday. Took me about an hour and cost $100. Edited December 13, 2016 by RootDKJ Quote

NMSKI Posted December 13, 2016 Author Report Posted December 13, 2016 You should see me backing up a camper. Just close my eyes, flip it in reverse, and hope for the best. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote

Johnny Law Posted December 13, 2016 Report Posted December 13, 2016 They just throw it in the machine so pretty hard to fuck up, the only caveat it places like that instead of filling a deep or core shot will just grind grind grind until your bases are .00008 thick so if you got a shot tell them to chill the fuck out. 2 Quote

RootDKJ Posted December 14, 2016 Report Posted December 14, 2016 (edited) What a great design! Tell me more, where'd you get the components? It's a miter saw stand. Reversed a few bolts. Added some old bike tubes. I'll take some detailed pics tomorrow. Edited December 14, 2016 by RootDKJ Quote
