RidgeRacer Posted March 25, 2017 Report Posted March 25, 2017 When did this happen! Lol. Between work, dinner, my daughter's softball I'm just getting around to looking at shit online. No excuses then. See you in the morning. Should be there around noon tomorrow. Morning is out for me now. See you all next weekend. 1 Quote

enjoralas Posted March 25, 2017 Report Posted March 25, 2017 Pops is working tomorrow, I was gonna take the morning off and head over to Bear for some afternoon turns after he got off at noon, since he's never been and I figure they will be less crowded so surface might hold up better until 1pm when we got out. But rains moving in, so fuck that. Blue in the morning it is! Quote
momskeeztoo Posted March 25, 2017 Report Posted March 25, 2017 What's the big deal about skiing in the rain. Just breakout your gore tex.I actually don't mind skiing in the rain, as long as it isn't a monsoon rain 2 Quote
enjoralas Posted March 25, 2017 Report Posted March 25, 2017 I would probably keep skiing in the rain if I were out there and it started, like you said, long as it's not a monsoon. But if it's already raining I have zero desire to head out into it. Especially not at Blue. With a pass and the mountain right up the road, nah. 1 Quote

theprogram4 Posted March 25, 2017 Report Posted March 25, 2017 You could cry about it. I want to. Thanks to blue, I have to go out tonight and have a social life. I was planning on going to bed early and waking up at 530 to ride. Instead, I have to be out late tonight and then find something to do tomorrow. I also cannot take a nap tomorrow, cause waking up at 10 and taking a nap from 2-4 is a waste, but coming back from riding and taking a nap is acceptable. This closure isn't just a loss of riding for me, it is a complete change in the past 4 month's Saturday/Sunday schedule that I had not mentally prepared myself for. Quote

GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted March 26, 2017 Author Report Posted March 26, 2017 I love Blue but closing yesterday at 3 and today was stupid. It's strictly a cost saving move. They recently fired 8 full time year round employees for budget reasons as well. Quote
toast21602 Posted March 26, 2017 Report Posted March 26, 2017 Felt good to sleep in until 8!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted March 26, 2017 Author Report Posted March 26, 2017 I already did my laundry. At this point I'm just happy I got to ski all my favorite runs yesterday and that there is hope for a few more days of PA skiing. Quote
indiggio Posted March 26, 2017 Report Posted March 26, 2017 Big spring bumps beat me up yesterday big time and I even left early at 2:30! 1 Quote
theprogram4 Posted March 26, 2017 Report Posted March 26, 2017 Lol now you guys are annoyed at blue Quote
theprogram4 Posted March 26, 2017 Report Posted March 26, 2017 I know you guys like to give me a lot of shit for complaining about these closings, but this is the 5th time this season they have closed days in advance of forecasted rain that didn't materialize. I understand they are not making money, but just be honest and say that. Literally every mountain including spring is open today. If it was pouring rain I would understand, but just be honest with us. 3 Quote

On Facebook blue said they are closed today until Tuesday to preserve their snowpack because you know it's all about the Base. 2 Quote
theprogram4 Posted March 26, 2017 Report Posted March 26, 2017 (edited) Is camelback open today? On Facebook blue said they are closed today until Tuesday to preserve their snowpack because you know it's all about the Base. Everyone is open today: camelback, jfbb, montage, elk, bear creek Edited March 26, 2017 by theprogram4 Quote
Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted March 26, 2017 Report Posted March 26, 2017 (edited) Camelback is open today as is Bear Creek and every Pocono area. The only places closed in eastern PA are Blue and Spring (which had said they would be open today but instead ended their season after yesterday). Mountain Creek in NJ also closed for season. In the running for next weekend still: Blue, Camelback, JFBB and Elk Edited March 26, 2017 by Ski2Live Live2Ski Quote
