Drew Bledsoe is a legend for a number of reasons. He was a great QB and at one point the future of the Patriots franchise. He took the Pats to the SB in '96 against Brett Favre and the Packers. We lost that game but it was new territory and cool just getting there. I've rocked many a Bledsoe jersey back in the day. But despite his great QB play, Drew Bledsoe is known more so for the birth of Sir Thomas of Brady.

In 2000, Drew suffered a massive hit in week 2 against the Jets which knocked him out for the season. A then unknown Tom Brady came in to replace Bledsoe, TB12 ripped off win after win that season and ended up winning the Super Bowl for the first time in franchise history against the "greatest show on turf" St Louis Rams. Bledsoe's career with the Patriots was essentially finished. He went on to play for Dallas and Buffalo I believe but it was all downhill (pun intended) after that 2000 season.

Bledsoe and Brady remain friends. He's a huge skier, U2 fan and owner / proprietor of Double Back Winery. An all around good dude.
