Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted April 24, 2017 Author Report Posted April 24, 2017 And another real fine one today, though getting slushy by the end. Bye bye skison, see ya next fall. Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted April 24, 2017 Report Posted April 24, 2017 (edited) What did you do after skiing Sunday??? You have a favorite run or area at Abasin? Did you ski any of the terrain under the Pali lift or the east wall? I'm sure the slush was fine on the performance rentals. Edited April 24, 2017 by GrilledSteezeSandwich 1 Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted April 24, 2017 Report Posted April 24, 2017 How did you get tickets for $47??? How much were rentals? You eat anywhere good? Quote
Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted April 24, 2017 Author Report Posted April 24, 2017 (edited) After skiing Sunday we we took a hike around Red Rocks (did not go into see Snoop) and went out to dinner. Did a bunch of hiking on Sat too. Did not do any of the double black stuff. But tried most other stuff there. Zuma bowl, Lenawee face, and the glades runs like Tbolt and Gulch were my favs. Sat was a half day ticket for $47. Sun was $46 as I took advantage of a BOGO deal I was offered. Wound up renting off site because the shop near the hotel offered me demo rentals for Sunday to pick up Sat AM, making it $35 for the whole weekend to rent and the wider skis than what I use in the east were better both for the fresh stuff on sat and the slush later on Sun. Pretty easy weekend trip with no work missed. Expect I will do it again sometime next year if this flight schedule continues. Edited April 24, 2017 by Ski2Live Live2Ski 2 Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted April 24, 2017 Report Posted April 24, 2017 Nice write up. I don't think I would have the energy to hike after skiing. Quote
Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted April 24, 2017 Author Report Posted April 24, 2017 Sure got a lot of sun. If you need me I will be applying aloe to my face. Quote

toast21602 Posted April 28, 2017 Report Posted April 28, 2017 18" new at Abasin since you were there. I'm strongly considering going back soon. Do a weekend. Fly in late friday night. Maybe throw boots in a carry on from somebody else on your flight. Share a hotel room. Hitchhike to save money. Rent performance skis. Ski Saturday afternoon. Ski sunday. Red eye home. Should cost around $5.37 1 Quote

I don't need a whole room just a bed. Here's a video from yesterday at A bay bay. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FjKfmfZ_faw Edited April 28, 2017 by GrilledSteezeSandwich Quote

GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted April 28, 2017 Report Posted April 28, 2017 OMG I saw that you can take a bus from Pittsburgh to Denver for only $49 each way. GLAD I COULD MAKE YOU LAUGH. YOUR FRIEND, BREAD. Bahahahah bread...to make the bread toast you probably need to set the toaster on 2 or 3...I'd go 4 for a bagel because there's levels to the shit. Quote
Barb Posted April 28, 2017 Report Posted April 28, 2017 There is a hostel in Leadville, but its like an hour away from A-basin. Quote
