Titanic popped into my head, and I talked myself into Forest Gump. Bodyguard never even entered my thought process. I mean, that song was huge, but c’mon. I would have even though Romeo and Juliet before that.

We had a 6 disc CD changer hooked up to our gigantic wood paneled stereo system from the 70s. When I was a kid the TV was wood paneled too.

watched black and white through most of my childhood.

Wow just wow. Yeah you grew up during the Wonder Years. They didn't have color TV until the late 60s right.

Early 50’s, although it was the early 60’s before other networks followed NBCs lead. Prime time lineup for NBC wasn’t in color until 67, not sure if they were first there or not

Ok not common in households until the late 60s. I remember the episode of the wonder years where it was color TV fever and the dad was like,"son we're not getting a color TV"  I used to have a 2.3" Casio color TV..my iPhone is like 99 times better than that

You're properly old when you've purchased a bunch of your music three times: LP, cassette, and CD.

Before my time!

Man, I feel young!

An 8 track player and a reverb unit in a 68 Camaro, with two (stereo) speakers cut into the "parcel" shelf at the back window..... now that's an old phart!!

Slightly off topic but (1) of the house phones I had growing up was a wall hung rotary phone. My mom finally got rid of it awhile back but i loved that thing.

My grandparents had a TV that only went up to channel 13 on the dial. Was all good as long as I could watch the Hogan Family.

We had that growing up. After 13 it was “U”, which you then used the little dial for the higher channels. We had 2 religion channels and like 5 Spanish channels.

That's all there was when we were kids. And there were five of us, so if you wanted privacy you had to stretch the cord out the back door and just deal with the weather. It literally took physical effort to dial a number.

That actually a lot of choices. I miss "Wide World of Sports." Remember watching log rolling and stuff like that just because it was on, and there weren't any other options?

Don't remember exactly but I am pretty sure we did not have a color TV until I was a teenager. The U on a TV as NMSki said was for UHF, a TV with that was exotic, 3, 6, and 10 was it at our house. We had rotary phones for a long time, impossible to win a radio call in contest with them.

True Fact: I won a radio call-in contest on a rotary phone. Tickets to see Invasion of the Body Snatchers.
