antman12 Posted February 16, 2018 Report Posted February 16, 2018 (edited) Hey guys I was wondering if anybody has ridden Mt Snow in mid march? I'm thinking about taking a 1 night 2 day riding mini trip next month, 1 day riding Carinthia and 1 day riding Mt snow. Edited February 16, 2018 by antman12 Quote
momskeeztoo Posted February 16, 2018 Report Posted February 16, 2018 We were there about 5 years ago for Mt Snow open. That's in mid March. Conditions were nice, it was cold, but not too cold. Everything was open. Just check when you want to go, they do a big snowboard competition, I think beginning of March. And skiing competition couple weeks later. Some of the park would be closed for set up and comp. Quote
SallyCat Posted February 16, 2018 Report Posted February 16, 2018 Doesn't Mt. Snow have some sort of Reggae Fest around that time? Might want to check that date, either to enjoy or avoid it. Quote
poconoceancity Posted February 16, 2018 Report Posted February 16, 2018 We were there last st Patrick’s day weekend. Conditions were good, should be better this season with the upgrades to their snow making system. Quote
antman12 Posted February 16, 2018 Author Report Posted February 16, 2018 Awesome, thanks for the replies. How late in the year do they typical stay open? Quote
poconoceancity Posted February 16, 2018 Report Posted February 16, 2018 I don’t think they ever stay open past the 2nd Sunday in April. Quote

Mess Posted February 16, 2018 Report Posted February 16, 2018 I am heading up Middle of March. Booked a room for three nights at Snow Lake Lodge. Great Location and price. The hotel is old but does the job. Kind of like a college dorm. I also stayed at Big Bears lodge a little more money but they give a nice made to order breakfast every morning. Quote
SallyCat Posted February 16, 2018 Report Posted February 16, 2018 (edited) There's a woman named Shelley on AirBnB in West Dover who rents rooms in a nice, big house just outside town. I've stayed there a couple of times for $35 a night; she's friendly and helpful; has a sweet old yellow lab who will steal your stuff when you're not looking and then play keep-away with it. Good fun. Cup n saucer is great for inexpensive breakfast alongside taciturn Vermonters. Good god, Mess, the Snow Lake Lodge is the sleaziest, sketchiest, most hilarious place I've ever paid money to stay. The bar area is like your creepy uncle's basement in 1975. The rooms are a living re-enactment of lower-East-Side tenements, and walking out of there in the morning unscathed feels like an accomplishment! Edited February 16, 2018 by SallyCat 3 Quote

SallyCat Posted February 17, 2018 Report Posted February 17, 2018 If that's SLI's bar it's either been heavily renovated or it's lit with whatever industrial-scale system kept Barbara Walters on air for 300 years. Plus that's only the rail area. You have to walk into that place to believe it. And smell it. Quote
Mess Posted March 2, 2018 Report Posted March 2, 2018 Snow report is looking good for mid march. If the long range weather is correct up to 35 inches before we get there on 15th. Quote
