GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted March 1, 2018 Report Posted March 1, 2018 Hey All, Its almost the weekend, who's gonna be at Blue mountain the true mountain??? Looks windy on Saturday but pretty comfortable temperatures and no rainfall over the weekend. Quote
enjoralas Posted March 1, 2018 Report Posted March 1, 2018 Probably headed to Tannersville on Saturday, Blue on Sunday. Supposed to be mostly sunny Sunday so gonna bring out my nice camera for some on mountain pics. Grill, of course. Quote

Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted March 1, 2018 Report Posted March 1, 2018 Got it in yesterday just in case little is left after the deluge. If we survive in decent form I will be there one day this weekend, unless Frost gets snow and Blue rain, in which case it will be Frost. Quote
antman12 Posted March 1, 2018 Report Posted March 1, 2018 Ill be up Saturday morning. I think I might bring my nephew up on Sunday so that will be a "slow" day. Quote

antman12 Posted March 1, 2018 Report Posted March 1, 2018 No way! Id rather teach him to ride so he can keep up sometime in the near future. He also took lessons last season and IMO he didn't get much value from them. Quote

Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted March 1, 2018 Report Posted March 1, 2018 I enjoy skiing slower with my kids (actually with the slower of them, as I tend to follow whoever lags so as to provide any needed help without having to hike uphill) every bit as much as I enjoy skiing faster by myself. 2 Quote

Expand Is that so you can work on your technique? I despise making slow deliberate. I find skiing fast to be a lot easier. The one low visibility day in Jackson hole was way more tiring because I couldn't let my skis run and was throwing them sideways a lot more. Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted March 1, 2018 Author Report Posted March 1, 2018 My niece and nephew live in Washington DC area and I only see them about twice a year so I don't anticipate ever teaching them how to ski. I'm honestly too selfish for that...it's up to their parents to put them in lessons if they're interested. Quote

Expand It's because I enjoy being a parent and watching and helping them improve. I actually get way more exercise skiing with them as it takes a lot more work to go slow than to rip down a run. I will go a bit ahead of them in trees or bumps to try to show them a route to follow If I want to go fast, I will often let them get a fair bit ahead of me and then catch up. Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted March 1, 2018 Report Posted March 1, 2018 Surprised to see the Razors on the closed list for today. They were one of the nicer runs yesterday. Quote

It was actually only one time. Another night on Razors I hit 53 my record and they were still leagues ahead of me. Lately I've convinced myself that if I keep up those fast speeds I'm gonna wreck myself, so I've slowed down to 30 ish. Quote
Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted March 1, 2018 Report Posted March 1, 2018 Going fast is a bit more dangerous in the spring skiing conditions we are having of late as it is easier for your skis to get caught. I took a nasty fall last weekend at the bottom of Falls. Quote
