skidude Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 Now this is just a rumor, but I did hear it from a source that would know. I was told that this year Camelback might have a bump run. From someone else I found out that Rich Wisemen (sp?) was the person who was against having a bump run. He is still there, but maybe the new owner likes to ski bumps... Quote
Glenn Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 Woohoo, hopefully it will be on one of the front blacks. I vote marjies. Quote
skidude Posted September 4, 2005 Author Report Posted September 4, 2005 My guess would be Asp just because that is what seems to get bumped up whenever they let something go for a few nights. Or they could let 1/2 of big pocono run bump....but marjies sucks as a trail, so I would vote for that one. Quote
Nipples Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 my guess is the black off of king tut I would of said ciffhager but I like to ski that swich. Quote
skigurl Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 i don't think it would be cliffy, i'd almost say hump b.c i thought at one point they did start to let that one bump up but i could be wrong Quote
skierboi Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 (edited) they could always fo 1/2 of cliffy, then it could "some what" live up to the double black that they call it Edited September 5, 2005 by skierboi Quote
LineSki Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 one of the front four probably, I would say asp, or margies. Quote
The_Public_Enemy Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 True bumps + CB ice = blownout knees Not trying to be a downer, I'd love having real bumps at CB, but skiing the troughs with normal CB conditions... <--But with your knees. Quote
VTmark Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 would these be mechieen cut bumbs or skiier made one. Quote
sibhusky Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 Years ago they used to let Margies bump up, as I recall. They even had bump contests on it. I don't recall them ever splitting Big Poke in two, but the older version before the fence went in at the bottom of the pitch (on Hell's Half Acre) might have given them room to do it. Quote
skidude Posted September 5, 2005 Author Report Posted September 5, 2005 Hump seems like a bad choice with the turn in it. All I can hope is that they would blow fresh snow on it each night... Quote
AtomicSkier Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 'Dude, yea, that's the problem. They had bumps last year, just no fresh snow on it. If you were at Blue early morning on Main street / barnies bumps, blue just blows snow on that trail like crazy, and doesnt groom it. They'd blow on the bumps and on the main street side. it made for some soft moguls in the morning, and some fresh stuff. by the end of the day, noobs had ice'ed it all up again. but as long as they blow each night, they're fine. it'd be nice to see a bump run...blue's got a nice one going on Quote
LineSki Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 why would cb waste snowmaking time on a black diamond when they could blow on a bunny trail. Quote
zaldon Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 Hump seems like a bad choice with the turn in it. All I can hope is that they would blow fresh snow on it each night... 32176 hump is not a good trial that trun is to sharp at high speeds on ice Quote
Shadows Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 why would cb waste snowmaking time on a black diamond when they could blow on a bunny trail. 32181 if youre gonna think like that...the terrain parks might not be around much longer Quote
Glenn Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 I think the bumps on asp this past season were just out of laziness. Planned, managed (possibly with hay bails, well we can hope right...) will hopefully be MUCH better. Time will tell. I'm there mostly during the night, so either way I will probobly see it on the icey side of things. Quote
mtnbiker99x Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 To do it right they need to buy some tower guns and set them up permanently on the side of trail and blow fresh stuff every night. Quote
skigurl Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 just don't do it on Cliffy! and i'll be happy Quote
skimom Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 (edited) I'd guess Asp. Marjies' is a pet favorite of management, Rocket is used for race practice, and Hump is usually icy. Cliffy is too distinctive to monopolize for bumps. Edited September 5, 2005 by skimom Quote
Margaritaville Skier Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 ROCKET They even tried it there last February. Quote
Timeless Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 ROCKET They even tried it there last February. 32356 yeah, but did you see it after 3 days of traffic, it was like an ice rink with speed-bumps. This would only be a good idea if they are willing to maintain it. The one thing that CB doesn't seem to do is keep ungroomed / blown trails open, or better still have them open while they blow. Both Blue, and even Shawnee do this and it adds some much needed variety to the limited runs around here. Quote
mtnbiker99x Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 Someone told me not to expect anything much this year. Don't count on anything. Quote

Papasteeze Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 The conditions page says that they are leaving the rocket ungroomed for saturday. What's this mean for conditions..... moguls or lots of fresh powder? That was a post from January 21st, 2005 from roworski Quote
