11/16-11/18 Weekend role call

Finally, The weekend we've all been waiting for!! Figured we could use this to discuss whos open, with how much terrain and figure out peoples plan for the weekend.

I already took off of work on Friday so I think ill hit Boulder. Get up there early and pick up my Peak Pass and probably only do a few runs. I'm also thinking ill hit Hunter on Sunday depending on if they actually open and how much terrain they have. 

What's everybody's plan for this weekend?

I knew it! I move to Vermont and get to ski less often!  Grrrrrr.

Work all week and EMT class and ambulance shifts all weekend until December 15 then holiday madness begins and I work crazy hours.

I'm only going to have decent stats if I get to ski at lunch.

Still not sorry I live here, but jealous of and missing night skiing.

Pretty much in the same boat. I'm hoping Hunter will open on Friday and I can head up there.

I'm hoping for BB on Friday. I have a lot going on Saturday, so I'd likely go Sunday otherwise.

PoconoOceanCity said Big Boulder 3pm Friday like a week ago.  Hunter will likely have one top to bottom run open this weekend.

Hunter will probably be open Friday if the storm stays all snow up there. That’s one snowmaking system you should never doubt...

I would LOVE to patrol, but seasonal work doesn't provide health insurance. 

GSS, I'm on my town's fast squad, so yeah I respond to 911 calls; medical, trauma, etc. Lots of alcohol-related shit. We get specifically toned for anything in West Windsor, VT.

Sally, patrollers in VT are covered under worker’s comp when you are on the job. Plus, if you make under a certain amount annually, I think you’re covered under some type of socialist healthcare coverage provided by the state. Not that I’m promoting that, but there are safety nets built in for the large amount of seasonal work in VT.

 

Also, Sugarbush opens Saturday. I could see a pass holder day on Friday. They did the same thing last year. Sounds like they are trying to avoid Deathspout two years in a row, so opening likely off Valley House Quad for Snowball and Spring Fling. I expect they will open the top of the mountain including Jester, Organgrinder, Downspout, and Valley House Traverse next Wednesday ahead of Thanksgiving.

Hunter announced 8:30 AM opening on Saturday as well...

Hunter also announced a Saturday opening. I’m a bit disappointed as I would’ve liked to go there on Friday instead of BB. All good though!
