Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted February 15, 2019 Report Posted February 15, 2019 No plans to go there real immanently, while sporting a Blue pass. But I look forward to checking it out when I do. Quote

I liked when it was contained on its own little area with that mid mountain double. They had the cool graffiti thing going too. My guess is because Shawnee put a terrain park on a top-to-bottom run accessible from the high speed quad, so Camelback did the same to stay competitive with the park people. I rarely skied the Pharaoh/Bactrian combo anyway because I don't really like either trail that much. Quote
saltyant Posted February 15, 2019 Author Report Posted February 15, 2019 (edited) Trail under the lift... looks narrow A.F. Edited February 15, 2019 by saltyant Quote
Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted February 15, 2019 Report Posted February 15, 2019 (edited) Assume is is following that snakey path - looks like it could be one of the cooler trails in NEPA. Edited February 15, 2019 by Ski2Live Live2Ski 1 Quote

I can likely take off work that day. Got day off approval today. Will be there on the 4th 1 Quote
RidgeRacer Posted February 15, 2019 Report Posted February 15, 2019 You must have the patience of a saint. I would never get a pass at a mountain without a high-speed lift unless there were no other options. You wouldn't do a season pass at Elk if it were closer? Quote

RidgeRacer Posted February 15, 2019 Report Posted February 15, 2019 Credit where credit is due. Took them a while but converting the Alpine slide into a ski trail is the right move. Looks fun. 4 1 Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted February 15, 2019 Report Posted February 15, 2019 Finally a run to rival raisins ledge at blue. Quote

EdBacon Posted February 16, 2019 Report Posted February 16, 2019 You could rip up the slide when they had a lot of snow. You'd get yelled at though. It was fun. Good move turning it into a trail. Still not agreeing with the terrain park move though. Doesn't matter as I never will go to CB again probably. 1 Quote
PSUFrankenstein Posted February 17, 2019 Report Posted February 17, 2019 I'm interested to see the new trail. I probably won't go either, at least any time soon, but the few times I rode Camelback and it wasn't crowded, I had fun. Quote

Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted February 22, 2019 Report Posted February 22, 2019 (edited) Hello Lehigh Valley Live, Cliffhanger also is designated double black. Edited February 22, 2019 by Ski2Live Live2Ski 1 Quote
PSUFrankenstein Posted February 22, 2019 Report Posted February 22, 2019 Yeah I think there are plenty of PA mountains that have double black diamonds...this new trail sounds treacherous Quote

The blue square trail Starburst (or something) at Killington is probably just as steep. This new trial at Camelback should be a triple or even quadruple black diamond, per comments on that news website. 1 Quote
PSUFrankenstein Posted February 22, 2019 Report Posted February 22, 2019 Yeah Cliffhanger is a fun trail but I don't remember it being terribly difficult. Blue Knob has some legit double black stuff. I haven't been there in over 10 years but I'd love to go back when they have some decent snow. Quote
RidgeRacer Posted February 22, 2019 Report Posted February 22, 2019 I may need to hit up CB for a ride on Basslick or whatever it's called. 1 2 Quote
Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted February 22, 2019 Report Posted February 22, 2019 Of course trail rankings indicate difficulty compared to other things on that mountain. 3 hours ago, saltyant said: Cliffhanger is a double black and it would a blue square in Vermont.
