AtomicSkier Posted December 16, 2018 Report Posted December 16, 2018 I woke up at 3am and it was POURING. I almost turned off my alarm then. Jonathan Lawson texted me ~6:15am saying the radar looked OK and he was on the road. I couldn't let him ski alone, so I got my ass up. In the house was myself, law, TP4, VTMark and Edge. Edge pulled in and realize he left his boot bag at home, so he turned around and met his girlfriend half way. The first 3 runs down Main Street were boner doner carpet. I was making noise on MS as I carved down a perfectly soft and smooth surface. Fog levels were right around Xing, so MS was almost all in the clear. Race team took over MS after 3 runs, then we just alternated between Paradise and Lazy until we decided we had our fill (not like Mickelson) around 9:30am. As we were walking out to the cars, Edge returned. Couple beers and another fun session. Those first three runs were better than yesterday. 4 Quote

Checked the webcam and saw the summit socked in. Had my fill of fog skiing for the week and forecast was for more rain. Decided to get some shit done around the house instead. Have to do some night sessions this week to make it up. Weather is really depressing. Edited December 16, 2018 by indiggio 3 Quote
Johnny Law Posted December 16, 2018 Report Posted December 16, 2018 This morning was awesome and for at least a couple runs it was pretty empty 2 Quote
toast21602 Posted December 16, 2018 Report Posted December 16, 2018 Just drove over the mountain and the roads were white. Web cam looks good. Better than all rain, I guess! 3 Quote

Schif Posted December 17, 2018 Report Posted December 17, 2018 I drove back from the old homestead in Pittston last night and the turnpike was pretty spicy for a while. As soon as I climbed up to the mountain to Bear Creek it was snowing substantially and I passed 3 crashes and never went above 40 mph until I was past the new EZ-Pass only exit for Jim Thorpe. Quote
theprogram4 Posted December 17, 2018 Report Posted December 17, 2018 Race team completely took over the entire mountain yesterday. They even set up gates on tuts lane Quote

I spread it out across the year pretty well, between ski trips, Musikfest and such. I'd probably ski the mornings like @toast21602 if I lived closer to the mountain.
