GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted January 31, 2019 Report Posted January 31, 2019 I thought that wire was a ski pole at first. I bet Jack Frost received at least 14” of pow the other day. Quote

RidgeRacer Posted January 31, 2019 Report Posted January 31, 2019 Ridge I bet this makes you wanna visit Frost this weekend Not really. The fun times I was referring to are now commonplace at Blue the True. See you Saturday morning. Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted January 31, 2019 Report Posted January 31, 2019 Social media person at Jack Frost said picture is from yesterday. I bet it’s all moguls by now. Quote
poconoceancity Posted January 31, 2019 Report Posted January 31, 2019 I still don’t believe them. I’ll check it Saturday. Quote
antman12 Posted January 31, 2019 Report Posted January 31, 2019 Apologies for simply not knowing but whats "Elevator"? I don't see it on the trail map, are you guys referring the to the circled area below? Regardless it looks fun, too bad he took the wrong route.... 1 Quote
JFskiDan Posted January 31, 2019 Report Posted January 31, 2019 (edited) Its a little further down. Its the area just left of where River Shot is written on that map. Edited January 31, 2019 by JFskiDan 1 Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted January 31, 2019 Report Posted January 31, 2019 Why was the elevator taken off the map? I remember back in the early 90s when it opened it was a big deal. My uncle who was a patroller at Jack Frost used to talk about it and he spoke of Floyd’s like it was S&S couloir Quote

The one I got directly off of their website doesn't do a good job depicting the far west trails IMO. Quote

That’s pretty rough in there. Mandatory hop turns. Quote
Schif Posted January 31, 2019 Report Posted January 31, 2019 the older trail maps were always more accurate and looked better in my opinion. Now they are all too cartoonish Quote
EdBacon Posted February 2, 2019 Report Posted February 2, 2019 (edited) Just got back from Jackson Frost. Elevator is indeed open although its almost impossible to drop into the steepest section it being a sheet of ice. Skiers' right was great though. First time I've ever really hit it, definitely need more practice (and more snow) to get down more confidently without a line pause before that little drop/cliff thing halfway down. Also Challenge glade was pretty much full top to bottom which was great. Edited February 2, 2019 by EdBacon 2 Quote
C1erArt Posted February 2, 2019 Author Report Posted February 2, 2019 They bulldozed little Cliff Huck a couple of years ago and smoothed over the section that was scooped out forming the 'huck'. 1 Quote
C1erArt Posted February 3, 2019 Author Report Posted February 3, 2019 On the map, I think the slope from the skier right of Telstar to the bottom of Floyds and that little connector never existed. Quote
C1erArt Posted February 3, 2019 Author Report Posted February 3, 2019 My opinion on where stuff is. Green is Elevator, although the upper section could be called Elevator glade, starting at tower 6. Blue is where little Cliff Huck was. Yellow is risk it. The sign for risk it was just to the right of the top of the start of Floyds. 1 Quote
