RidgeRacer Posted March 16, 2019 Report Posted March 16, 2019 He's a purple anthropomorphic T Rex from the Land make believe. Before becoming a singer / actor he was a bad ass bump skier in the mold of Johnny Moseley. After losing a few competitions he decided to leverage his other talents (singing, arm swaying and acting) into a potentially more lucrative career. He obtained an agent, hit the big time and the rest is history. In an effort to honor his skiing prowess, Blue decided to name a trail in his honor. Believe it or not he still skis recreationaly at his home mountain in the Land of Make Believe but given time constraints (as you could imagine) his skiing is limited. Post skiing pick of Barney below. 7 2 Quote
JFskiDan Posted March 16, 2019 Report Posted March 16, 2019 Someone did snap a pic of him one year at the bump comp. as you can see, his gear is pretty basic, and someone mounted is skis a little far back, so he didnt do real well. 2 3 Quote
RidgeRacer Posted March 16, 2019 Report Posted March 16, 2019 Ahhh that's the famous and rare photo from his very last competition! Legend has it that this was the event that prompted him to give up skiing for show business for good. So much talent, wasted. 2 Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted March 16, 2019 Report Posted March 16, 2019 Barney was Blue mountain founder Ray Tuthills dog. I always used to think that tuts lane was named after king tut but it’s really named after the tuthills. Burma road is after Burma where I believe Ray was in World War Two.. 3 1 Quote

tnt Posted March 17, 2019 Report Posted March 17, 2019 I like Ridge Racer's answer way better. A Blue employee on the lift yesterday said Tuthill corp also makes snow making equipment. 1 Quote
