Do you or tarponhead have any recommendations on how to cultivate your own yeast at home? I’m interested in trying this.

Took about 5 days of feeding before my starter was ready. Baking the sour dough today. Will see how it turns out

Husband tried to make his own yeast this week since all stores were out. Didn’t turn out very well, very dense bread.

Did he have steam in the oven? Also gotta be careful not to add to much flour. Dough should be wet and sticky

No steam but I will mention that to him. By some miracle I found yeast at the store the other day so I loaded up and bought (2) 3 packs.

Plenty of online baking sources. I got a 50lb bag flour (high protein) and a lb of yeast delivered. Sour dough stuff just fun though

This paycheck protection small business loan is gonna be a shitshow.  First Bank if America was accepting applications from people with business checking accounts but no credit cards or loans.  They changed that policy a day later after a flurry of complaints.  Many participating banks were to overwhelmed with current customers to accept new applications from people who don’t bank at these banks.  Also larger companies with multiple locations also getting in on this.  Hilton hotels may have 20,000 employees but if one location has under 500 they qualify.  Now Wells Fargo is no longer accepting applications.  Will be interesting to see if my business is included in this.  Would be essentially almost $50k free money.

PA positive cases are down for the second day in a row. Peak for PA has also been adjusted from 4-18 to 4-11 to 4-15. Keep staying at home. It's working.

Where'd you read about the peak? Wfmz reports 1,484 new cases Sunday vs 1,597 on Saturday, but new cases also went down for 2 days at the end of March and then shot up again. So need a longer trend to tell for sure.
