Oh Lordy..I don’t know why that bugs me so much...as I drive around smoking weed i think,”why can’t people just follow the rules”

There should be less restrictions on weed and more on maskless idiots.

Correct. Another one. I didn’t take it. You will never see me with a mask like this  either on my face or off it

You don’t like the medical style masks?

I don’t care what kind of masks people wear.  I’ve never used the disposable medical style masks...I have homemade one my mom gave me, an N95 I’ve never used and two Hawaiian Tommy bahana looking masks.  I’m talking about people using masks as chin guards or below nostrils.  What’s the point.

My buddy who lives in Florida went to Disney today (passholder). People in Florida do not give a fuck anymore.

Disney hardcores are no joke. Nothing can keep them away from the parks. They are to those parks, what we are to skiing...maybe even worse. Was talking to my mother last night (who lives there) and she's more nervous about it than ever. Its apparently all that's being talked about 24 / 7. Some are legit scared and even though businesses are open they're starting to see less and less people as each day goes by...at least in her county. Her hours at work were just cut.

You’re 100% right. I talk to customers in Florida every week and the older folks are terrified.  Instead of spending a half hour to an hour with families in the office I’m spending a similar amount of time on the phone and walking them through options off our website, a common question for me is,”how are things where you are”. In terms of seriousness here’s my unofficial ranking from most serious to least.

Most serious...

NYC until real recently, NJ(still no inside dining), Massachusetts serious, PA semi serious, Midwest to the Rockies pretty serious...Georgia Florida not serious until very recently.

My mom went to the chiropractor yesterday. She's been putting it off because of the virus. She gets there and said when she walked in she was the only one wearing a mask. She made some comment and the girl at the desk said, "masks are optional at chiropractor offices". A guy in the lobby makes small talk with her and says he works for a place that makes ventilators (supposedly) and he starts saying how masks don't work blah blah blah.

She gets to the back and the chiropractor said to her how he hasn't seen her in awhile and she said because of the virus she's been putting off coming. He basically rolled his eyes and then proceeded to adjust her back without a mask. My mom is not going back Monday and is now looking for a new chiropractor. Honestly knowing my mom, I'm surprised she didn't turn around and walk out yesterday. Her back must have been really bad and that's the only reason she stayed.

What blows my mind about it is his fiancé is in her last year of medical school, one of those “you should know better” situations.

Stay at home order again in Atlanta. Back to phase one there.

i wish there was something out there to see how close PA counties were to going back to yellow etc. I think i know the formula, but it's a lot of work trying to get the county pop etc and matching things up. i wonder how close some (allegheny in particular, even york) are.

Well the original guidelines to go from red to yellow was 50 or less positive cases per 100,000 people for a 14 day period so for a county like Lehigh with 300,000 people it would be 150 new cases for 14 days or about 10-11 per day.  That was unattainable and due to a lot of pressure the governor relaxed those guidelines.  I have heard that future restrictions will be left up to county leaders like when Pittsburgh shut the bars back down. Although we are in green where most of the state stands right now puts us in Orange.

I would have left.

Another 10,000 plus new cases in Florida and 95 new deaths. Probably way higher but the state can only process about 60,000 tests daily.  Arizona’s numbers are also way higher but that state can only process about 16,000 tests daily.

Also there’s a 14 day quarentine for people from Pennsylvania traveling back from Delaware.  It does not apply to commuters like @Zonked Rehoboth originally required masks on the beach but bookings were down so now just indoors and on the boardwalk.

Test results in FL are running about 6 days so I suspect the daily numbers will go up considerably in the next week due to the lag in results

Bars in Las Vegas have been told to shut down.  A lot of casino workers have contracted Covid-19 but its hasn’t stopped many tourists from traveling to sin city.

Therein lies the problem. One summer of laying low is really all that was needed yet the beaches, Vegas, theme parks etc. are packed and here we are.

Many people are stubborn or have ants in their pants.  They want to do the same things they did before.  Now cruise company CEOs are saying cruise ships can be very safe because its a controlled environment..ok boomer.
