Tp4...you know I'm a fan but come on dude. How do you explain the massive surge all over the world? Is the European surge because of the rioting too?

We will have to agree to disagree. As long as I live I will never stop believing the rioting/protesting/looting/celebration is the main reason we have Covid so bad.  For months we’ve been told to social distance, but suddenly crowds of tens of thousands are ok?  How does that make sense? With all due respect, using your logic we can say lockdowns are completely useless, as Europe had socialist style complete lockdowns and are still getting ravaged by the virus.  Also, there have been riots in Europe.  I also posted an article showing a girl wearing a mask at a protest and still got Covid.  It’s very stressful that my ski season could be affected due to selfish people.  I’ve been acting responsible during this yet my life is at risk cause people wanted free Nike’s smh.  Also, I find the attack on families offensive.  Seeing family for thanksgiving bad...running around the streets yelling and spitting everywhere good.  The double standards are ridiculous  and reek of political motivation

Believe me I get that and I'm not at all saying the rioting and looting was immune to it. What I'm saying is there's no way that is the only reason its surging in the US. Its probably one of many many reasons why.

The positive....Pfizer upped their vaccine effectiveness to 95%. Let's be honest a vaccine is the only thing that may end this at this point.

The question is what percentage of people will be willing to take the vaccine..

Anecdotal evidence doesn’t fly with this crowd...it will work with the some of the ex cons you work with at the car lot.

I hate to the the nihilist in the room, but come on. None of this matters. We can slow it with restrictions but we can't stop it. We can lock down, drop the numbers, feel good about it and then they will spike again. We are talking about something that went from one small area in China to the entire world in the span of a few months. If this virus had a motto it would be "Can't stop won't stop". A vaccine will take years to get this under control and there is nothing we can do.

We are just animals stuck to a big spinning ball we can't really get off of and sometimes things kill off a bunch of us for no real good reason. Once you kick back and realize we are all just along for the ride it starts to feel less bumpy.

Serious question...it’s more dangerous to have thanksgiving dinner with 5 family members than be in a crowd of 10,000?

Expand

It could depend.  If you are at a BLM protest or a Trump rally and its outside with the wind blowing and the sun's UV rays shining, I feel okay about that compared to being across the dinner table from a spit talker in an unventilated room.

Edit: of course wearing a mask in the protest/rally scenario.

We will have to agree to disagree. 10,000 is way more than 5, especially when those 10,000 are screaming and spitting.

While it can be discouraged, you're never going to stop people from protesting or meeting with family members in this country, absent authoritarian measures.

Expand

Even with authoritarian measures they can't really stop anything. If the looting and stuff has shown us anything lately its that the grasp that the police have on the populace is tenuous at best.

The state updated their website and gyms will have to go to 10% capacity. I just called my gym and said they are most likely closing, but they will send out an email. There is nothing specific to ski resorts.  I think Polis knows that is a pretty hot topic and is proceeding with caution. If you don’t use IKON pass and resorts close they will roll over 100% to next year. If you use one day you are screwed. Think I am going to wait snd see how this plays out. No sense in getting a day or two in on a WROD then losing towards next season.

Cool new content being uploaded to YouTube daily or go visit the dark web.  Maybe get Netflix. I’ve never tried it but people love it.
