And just like that Big Pharma announces a vaccine that has a 90% chance of working effectively...

Well, the current administration’s dumpster fire of an approach on covid has a silver lining - current clin trials can reach a conclusion much faster now so the timing of this announcement is no surprise

I couldn't disagree more with most of your opinions on the election and I'm happy as shit that Biden won, but these 2 points you make are exactly what I'm thinking today!

It is good that we can have a mature debate despite a difference of opinion.  There a couple posters whose reactions to my post I’m excitedly awaiting

There are so many people saying this and I honestly don't understand it other than the fact it seems to be the fashionable thing to say. What did they do wrong? What could they have done differently? As far as I know in the enumerated powers of the Constitution there is nothing that says that if there is a worldwide pandemic the president is the one with the legal power to do something about it.

The CDC makes recommendations (not binding rules or laws) and the individual States are the ones who need to do something about it. I mean you can blame the Constitution or the fact that we occupy the majority of an entire continent under one flag for a disjointed approach but without an amendment to the Constitution it falls on the States and they all did things differently based on their individual needs or tolerance to risk.

y’all wanted me to stop the stolen election conspiracy posts, then show partying in the streets by the same people afraid to vote in person, and a vaccine is released coincidentally right after the election

For outdoor dog walks and hikes I wear a buff and pull it up if needed. I got the OR mask for yoga classes and the gym.  And also for ski season, wanted a real mask to wear on the lift other then just a buff

I was in New Hope and Lambertville and their outdoor mask usage is way more than in Allentown. Probably a more similar demographic than Boulder..lots of democrats and BoBos..Bourjois Bohemians...Rich artsy fartsys.

LOL at "BoBos".  That's a new one to me!

Jersey just halted indoor dining from 10pm-5am which is interesting....

I’d imagine that is aimed more at the casinos vs standalone eateries.

Nice family debate last night about how to handle thanksgiving.  Some want it just immediate family and grandparents, some want business as usual with the large family, and some like me are just going with the flow regardless of what happens

My mom called me today and said no Xmas this year.  So for the first time in years can ski on the 23rd and 24th.  I don’t think people should have thanksgiving inside with people outside their immediate households.   I’d feel bad if I got Covid and gave it to my parents and killed them or made them real sick.  They’re both over 70...which is like a Kenny Loggins song,”In the Danger Zone”

Well and everybody was screaming as well which according to Dr. Fauci already droplets.  Even Kayleigh McGottaFindANewJob was hating after Trump hosting a dozen super spreader events in a week.

Quit hating on mail in voting.  Making it easier for people to vote, especially during a pandemic is a good thing.  Voting should be done over the internet but I’m sure it could get hacked.

If there is a pandemic, why are those same people not social distancing in the streets? If you are scared to vote in person, you would be scared to party in large crowds as well

I would imagine that it's more about the convenience factor rather than the pandemic. People love Amazon, why not love voting by mail?

Wouldn’t that bring up a whole new philosophical debate: If someone votes based on convenience, not because it is their civic duty, should they really be voting to begin with?

Voting in person sucks!  I hate going into some gross room in the church that smells like stale coffee where they have AA meetings and seeing all kinds of annoying parents of my kids' schoolmates that I have to make meaningless chit chat with.  I dropped my shit in a box at the library this year and was so happy I did.

There is no debate at all. Who are you to say who should and who should not vote?

I’m not necessarily saying people shouldn’t be allowed to vote by mail, but I do think it brings up a philosophical issue
