EdBacon Posted December 22, 2020 Report Posted December 22, 2020 (edited) Did you get into Dreamcatcher? There's a really nice huck in there. Dunno if there's enough snow for it yet though. Edited December 22, 2020 by EdBacon Quote
RidgeRacer Posted December 23, 2020 Author Report Posted December 23, 2020 Got home a few hours ago. Today was awesome. Felt like January or Feb up there. Stashes in trees, trails open with natural snow only, western groomer like in other spots, private gondola rides. Really good ski day today. Wanted one or two more runs on Deer Run but the gondola "closed for maintenance" so we bailed. Great day otherwise. 4 Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted December 23, 2020 Report Posted December 23, 2020 Dot Nebel is a badass run at Belleayre. Most of my skiing at Belleayre has been in April or very early season. After reading your report...I wanna go back..good work...while most of us were at work!! 1 Quote

GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted December 23, 2020 Report Posted December 23, 2020 I want to do a NY trip when the snow is right especially since Vermont is off limits and still not quite ready to fly..sort of like a Tom Petty song about not having wings. Nastar Glenn doesn’t know the lyrics either. Quote

eaf Posted December 25, 2020 Report Posted December 25, 2020 (edited) No, but I'm super disappointed still. I actually almost thought that all that rain would be snow in Catskills! And wow, you're right! Another rain on the New Year's eve. 😬 Edited December 25, 2020 by eaf 1 Quote
RidgeRacer Posted December 25, 2020 Author Report Posted December 25, 2020 I'm sure as hell glad I went when I did. I think that's Belleayre run which was all natural earlier in the week. 1 Quote

I actually almost thought that all that rain would be snow in Catskills! And wow, you're right! Another rain on the New Year's eve. 😬 It was raining several hours north of Quebec City overnight. At one point it was snowing between Washington DC and Richmond Virginia while it was pouring buckets of rain in northern New England. Boston was warmer than Tampa Florida this morning. You know what they say about weather in Pennsylvania,”if you don’t like it, wait five minutes”. Don’t worry the snowmaking cannons will be back on at Blue mountain in a few hours. Rain to end the year is perfect..then there will be plenty of water in the snowmaking ponds to blow snow in January before the three or four January thaws..a blizzard 78 degree February weather and record cold March where we are all bundled up at the party.
