Barb Posted January 26, 2021 Author Report Posted January 26, 2021 I think there is a free lot but the shuttle is a 5 min walk for me so it’s just easier. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted January 27, 2021 Report Posted January 27, 2021 Barb I’ll buy you one of these t shirts. Are you a small or medium? Quote
Barb Posted January 27, 2021 Author Report Posted January 27, 2021 Ha! I would never wear it. But you are sweet for asking if I am a size small, those days are long past. Quote
Popular Post Barb Posted January 27, 2021 Author Popular Post Report Posted January 27, 2021 -10 when I walked my dog this morning, -3 when I got to the base. Got in line at 8:57 and still got 3rd chair. Finally some visibility today, bluebird skies. First run down Paradise and first clear views since my arrival. Did a few there then headed down to East River. Stuck to groomers today as the legs were tired and figured the bumps would be bricks. Then went down to the slow ass Teo lift to play in the trees a bit. But damn it was just so cold I had to call it. Only lasted about an hour and 20 min. Once it gets above 15 or so I am going to head out to do a mellow snowshoe, need some cardio. Taking gloves off for pics was painful so only 2. 5 3 3 Quote
theprogram4 Posted January 27, 2021 Report Posted January 27, 2021 Barb, do you still take the board out at all? I lose track of the PASRs who do both Quote
Barb Posted January 27, 2021 Author Report Posted January 27, 2021 Sold my board as soon as I got skis. No regrets. 1 1 1 Quote

Barb Posted January 27, 2021 Author Report Posted January 27, 2021 Snowshoed Washington Gulch, absolutely nobody there! Bluebird skies changed to all clouds by the time I was done. 9 Quote
Popular Post Barb Posted January 29, 2021 Author Popular Post Report Posted January 29, 2021 Some unexpected work stuff came up so at first light I drive to the Gunnison Walmart to buy a printer. At least the sunrise was niceAfter I got my stuff done I was on the mountain by 10. Warm today, no mid layer and still had all my zippers open. Getting spoiled here with the lack of crowds because a 3-5 min lift line wait felt long. Did some warm ups on Paradise then headed over to East River. The bumps on Middle Gallowich get me every time! Can’t seem to flow through there without stopping. Then onto Teo for some trees Snow rolling in tonight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 8 3 1 Quote

Barb Posted January 29, 2021 Author Report Posted January 29, 2021 I suck at them, but the more I practice, the more that will translate into backcountry skills. 4 Quote

There are bumps in the backcountry? I used to be real good at bumps but I rarely ski them but can hold my own in them if faced with them. I just prefer skiing fast on groomers or perder followed by spring chop. Quote
Barb Posted January 29, 2021 Author Report Posted January 29, 2021 Is this a serious question? Backcountry skiing is obviously not groomed, various conditions/trees etc. 1 Quote

Popular Post Barb Posted January 30, 2021 Author Popular Post Report Posted January 30, 2021 (edited) Knew the resort would be busier today so decided to go snowshoeing instead at Slate River. Partly sunny skies, light snow and 27 degrees. I love how empty and quiet CB is, hiking on a weekend in Boulder is always a shit show. Saw one other group of 4 ahead of me and that was it. Barb Posted February 3, 2021 Author Report Posted February 3, 2021 Had partial sun for one run then started snowing! Switching between fat flakes and graupel right now but mostly the latter. Gonna snow all day and night so tomorrow will definitely be a powder day. Snow today was good! Official snow report was only an inch but felt like a few inches of fresh. Visibility was really bad. I am ordering those prescription goggle inserts from sport RX because I can’t stand to be blind anymore on low visibility days. Hope they help. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 6 Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted February 3, 2021 Report Posted February 3, 2021 Nice report Barb..have you tried contacts? Hard to tell but was it dust in crust or soften snow under the new Perd? Quote
Barb Posted February 3, 2021 Author Report Posted February 3, 2021 The area I took the pics was dust on crust, the actual trails had much nicer snow. No contacts, I usually don’t need my glasses outside. But I just have zero depth perception on low viz days. 3 Quote
Popular Post Barb Posted February 4, 2021 Author Popular Post Report Posted February 4, 2021 (edited) BFPD! New PASR acronym Bluebird Fucking Powder Day! Today was my best, most fun day of this season. Snowed 8” overnight. Today is trash day and since my plow guy didn’t come before I left, getting my trash can over a 4’ mound of snow the street guys left for me made me late. 2 full buses went by and a regional bus from Gunnison stopped and said they could take a few. Got in line at 8:31 and (for CB) there was already a decent line. first run down Paradise and OH. MY. GOD. It was deep! Lots of hoots and hollers were heard. East River had equally good snow, but after a few runs the lines started backing up (again, CB lines, but I am now spoiled). Went down to Teo and lapped Bushwacker for a bit, guess what? Good snow there too! Then ended doing some laps near the Umbrella Bar. Some was groomed, but under the lift was fresh. Ended the morning with 11 runs and tired legs. Heard lots of avy bombs going off near the North Face lift. And according to the paper this morning they are trying hard to get it open by President’s weekend FYI @AtomicSkier. Right now I just can’t seem to wipe this smile off my face. Edited February 4, 2021 by Barb 9 3 3 Quote
