Monarch Mountain 3/4/2020

I woke up early this morning since it was snowing and had a big drive to Monarch and they were reporting 1 inch as of 5:30, but it dumped for a few hours and we had a nice 6” of fresh in the morning and major dumpage from late morning through the rest of the day.  Lots of nice powder turns and the first pow day my kids have experienced.  
 

What a cool little mountain Monarch is.  It’s not that big and has small vert but the vibe was amazing and there was some really fun terrain.  Nice steep runs from the top of panorama along the continental divide and some nice trees as well.  I hiked Mirkwood, which is the “side country” area there and between the fresh and wind deposited snow I was getting knee deep in spots.  It was awesome to see my kids get the hang of skiing powder and everyone is pooped!

So sick !!!!!! Monarch is an excellent little hill that is about Blue vert but skis huge ! 

Pow day with the fam is top 10 !

Looks like you had great conditions!  I have only been there once years ago but remember it being empty and a nice vibe as you said. You know CB is only 90 min away, you should surprise Jeff.

Hell yeah. Looks awesome! I remember driving past it last year. Looked like such a cool place right on the pass if I recall. WTGAI.

I invited Jeff to milk it at monarch but he had a friend visiting CB.
