Looks like last night JFDan walked off one plane and back onto another.  Plane #1 landed at Dallas at 634pm and plane #2 left Dallas at 658pm. Good thing the gates were close to each other.  Woooo

I ran from one to the other.  I had always considered the Gunnison flight being a problem, and i must have been a little sleepy when i thought there was another DFW-PHL flight like an hour after my scheduled flight, but second look showed that was incorrect.  i spent a small amount of time trying to come up with plan B, in case i got to DFW late, but the options sucked bad.  So, yeah, i was the asshole on the plane yelling at people to get thier shit together and get off the plane or get out of the way.  I was going to do whatever it took to make that flight.

Did the Gunnison to Dallas flight take off late due to weather/de-icing?

De-icing.  Gunnison is a neat little airport since they re-did it, its alot like JH now, just not as over the top.  So they dont have a lot of flights go out.  So the people at the counter who check your bags, are the same ones that handle boarding as well.

But it kinda runs at a slower pace.

Are they also the ones that touch under your armpits with rubber gloves?  I got that in Newark, the guy even joked that this was gonna me my worst massage ever.  The joke was on him as my pits were sweaty.  Gotta be the worst job ever.

Skipped the resort today and did a mellow ski tour at Washington Gulch. Pretty flat, kept skins on whole time. About 8 degrees, windy, snowing and not much visibility. Was glad some snow mobile guys had been there first to lay a path for us.

A great day to end my skiing at Crested Butte. A day of milestones. Ski day 30, previous record was 26 and still plenty of season left. One year ago today I broke my knee. The best milestone is that I did my first steep tree run. Not a big deal for you pros, but for me it was an accomplishment. Too chicken to try with @JFskiDan but since my friends were here I felt good about it. As Dan knows, my friend Ilise is great in the trees so she guided us down. We did the trees off East River. Dan knows where they are.

Before the tree run we did bumps all morning. Some pics

Me. Could never get an action shot of Ilise since she is just too fast

I skied the top and “survived” the bottom.

After a week of flat light the sun finally emerged today!  When I took my dog for a pre sunrise walk and saw the bright full moon I was like, oooh a chance for no clouds today!

my friend slept in and I sent her a text I was leaving. Got there right at 9 no lift lines to speak of. It was very chilly this morning. Headed right down to East River and it was so icy. So went back to Paradise, that was better. Then scoped out my usual smaller bump areas. Only one shot today.

I think this is Middle Twister  not positive though.

As some of you already know, I made the bittersweet decision to sell my place in Crested Butte for a variety of reasons. I am glad I got to introduce so many PASR’s to the awesome mountain and town. When I went to get what little personal stuff I had there it was a very slow walk out the front door with a little lump in my throat. 7 years of good memories for sure.

So since I am now 100% invested in my current location, I decided to buy this little UTV. The lead king loop is 4 miles from my front door. I am not a “jeeper” but there are amazing trailheads down the road. If you can cut off a 6-8 mile hike, you start out in some really awesome spots. And yes, my Jeep could make it, but my jeep skills are lacking. This machine is smaller and easier to navigate.

Ah man! Your Crested Butte house was lovellllly!!! And loved even more that you got to share it with so many people. ❤️

The new UTV is sick. Does it have a name yet?

Haha I guess I am a giant dork, because I didn’t even think about naming it. I will have to think about that.

Did you name your car?  I never understood that.  I also heard boats are usually referred to as her but may change with all the pronouns and trans stuff lol

Lucas Catania named his sprinter van Luna…
