You're better off getting a lesson from a ski instructor at the mountain.

Skiing's pretty easy to learn yourself. Just watch a few YouTube videos, go to Spring Mountain since it's cheap, and find the easiest possible slope in the beginner area and traverse the slope like pictured below until you don't fall anymore. This way you're not going straight down the slope, you're cutting across which is far easier to learn.  When you're comfortable, do the same thing on a slightly more difficult slope.  Pretty soon you'll be skiing as fast as @GrilledSteezeSandwich

I’m gonna have to put wax on my skis..I get passed at Blue way more than at Jackson hole..that’s for dang friggin Shirley.
