Popular Post GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted February 8, 2023 Popular Post Report Posted February 8, 2023 Hey All, I’m back from a fun morning session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at 835am and it was 36 degrees in the valley and 43 at the upper entrance..mad inversion Yo!!! In the house were the Bethlehem ford crew, C1, Rodney, Oz, ZZSlope and a couple hundred boomers. First civilian quad with Oz and I started off with Coming soon which was smooth but a little stiffer than I expected. Razors was better cord and I give it an 8 out of 10…upper Main Street and lower left was the nicest snow initially I give that an 8.5. Widowmaker was closed for racing but they hadn’t set up gates yet so I did one run on it and it was glorious to chute which was a little stiff but smooth. I skied Lazy to the falls once and it was decent until right before the turn where there were mini cookies, I revisited coming soon and also some little pebbles but not bad. Razorback had a few slick spots. Crowds were light but enough that there were people on almost every chair but no line. If it was only the quad running, there’d definitely be a short lift line so it shows the improvement of the brand new summit safari six back. I ended with Main Street which was turning choppy and spring like and peaced out right before 1030. 12 Quote
Transcienter Posted February 8, 2023 Report Posted February 8, 2023 Looks good. Other than the lack of bumps on Barney's.... 1 Quote
zzslope Posted February 8, 2023 Report Posted February 8, 2023 Today was one of those bluebird days that make me happy my friends took me on that first ski outing so many years ago. Skied a morning session with Hyata from opening bell until noon. Some morning stiffness but everything softened into nicely carvable snow quickly. Can't complain about any of the trails while I was there. I do wish challenge and switchback were open. Bummer to see them full of snow whales but not groomed out, although it was evident that there were quite a few skiers who poached runs on switchback. Enjoyed a lift ride with root, good to see him again. 7 1 Quote
Johnny Law Posted February 8, 2023 Report Posted February 8, 2023 I couldn't do today but knew waking up it was a nice one. Razors has been mad finicky of late, it's good but only for a short window. 3 Quote
RidgeRacer Posted February 8, 2023 Report Posted February 8, 2023 Conditions are really good tonight. Coming soon is $$. 9 Quote

RidgeRacer Posted February 9, 2023 Report Posted February 9, 2023 Everything else is decent. Hard but edgable in the middle. Some sugar on the sides but not the dry ankle deep shit we were skiing 2 weeks ago. Got the headphones on, weather is nice. Life is good 9 Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted February 9, 2023 Author Report Posted February 9, 2023 X-ing might still have fresh cord on the sides. 1 Quote
DiMe Posted February 9, 2023 Report Posted February 9, 2023 Rode from open till 1:30 today and all it could be described as just another day in paradise..... 🤗 3 Quote
momskeeztoo Posted February 9, 2023 Report Posted February 9, 2023 Skied from 930-430, with a couple short breaks. Probably best day this season. Snow was perfect- a little crunchy in the am, but softened up perfectly, no sugar piles anywhere. Went back out after a quick tailgate. Snow firmed up as soon as the sun was off of it. Perfect bluebird day, did a total of 24 runs. Only trail I wasn’t happy with was Razors. 5 Quote
RidgeRacer Posted February 9, 2023 Report Posted February 9, 2023 Dang that's a long day at Blue Quote
momskeeztoo Posted February 9, 2023 Report Posted February 9, 2023 It was perfect, so hard to stop skiing.i forgot to add, the bald eagle made several appearances from the nest. Last one was spectacular, as he circled low, then dove into the edge of the trees, I’m guessing he got some good eats. I have to take my binoculars over there and try to spot the nest. 6 Quote
RidgeRacer Posted February 9, 2023 Report Posted February 9, 2023 Despite all it's quirks, Blue can be magical sometimes. 3 Quote

momskeeztoo Posted February 10, 2023 Report Posted February 10, 2023 I better dabble in them before they turn to ice. I’m not great a seeded bumps 2 Quote

I like to hang out along the edge, that way I can bail out if needed I can do soft snow bumped up no problem. Don’t have the rhythm for seeded bumps. I can’t dance either 2 Quote
