Popular Post toast21602 Posted February 11, 2023 Popular Post Report Posted February 11, 2023 It's been a while since I've taken the skins out for some uphill so I decided to finally do it with the Indy pass for the first time this year. I headed up to Shawnee this morning and pulled into the lot around 9:00. Temp in the lot was 54 degrees. I had shorts on under my snow pants and the vents opened to the climb. All I wore was a long sleeved tech shirt with my jacket in my pack. if it got cold. Booted up, redeemed my ticket, and was on the snow around 9:20. 20:04 seconds later I was at the top. Lots of kiddies and ski patrol out today for national ski patrol day or something like that. One thing I love about Shawnee is that the SP are super friendly and I've always had some of them stop to talk with me as I'm skinning up. Skied down the terrain park and back to the base, then put the skins on for another lap. 19:48 later I was back at the top. Another lovely skin lap. I ended up just skinning two laps and then take some lift runs as well. Quite a lovely morning and I look forward to getting back there again soon. I could care less about 100% terrain open when skinning up and only skiing a few trails. Truly good times. My one complaint is that I forgot to bring some seltzers to drink at the top. Better luck next time. Cheers. 10 3 Quote
