Popular Post DiMe Posted March 7, 2023 Popular Post Report Posted March 7, 2023 (edited) Just got home from not just another day in paradise at Blue The True but an amazing day in paradise! Came home to around 3-4" after having watch the snow fall on Blues webcams all night at work. Arrived at the lower lot at 8:45 and the only other PASR powder hound in the house was none other than @Johnny Law. We booted up and got in line for the Quad as it was the only lift spinning this morning. We made probably the 6th or 7th chair and as everyone knows there are no friends on a groomer pow day! I started down Razors where the top had been wind blown but came right into a few inches of a fresh blanket of suprisingly dry natural snow to cut tracks all the way down. Next up was Nightmare to Dreamweaver which was much of the same fresh tracks top to bottom! Next up was Challenge where again the top was a bit wind blown but fresh tracks to be had the rest of the way. Found a little bit leftovers in Switchback. Went back for some more fresh I spotted left on Razorback and then lapped Nile Mile a few times as the riders right wall at the top refilled as the wind was blowing right into it. Finished the morning with 9 runs and a big grin. All in all it was JADIP. Edited March 7, 2023 by DiMe 10 1 1 Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted March 7, 2023 Report Posted March 7, 2023 Nice report…I woke up early but wasn’t that motivated to ski and have a lot of work today so missed the pow day. I should be up tomorrow for opening. 1 1 Quote

Popular Post C1erArt Posted March 7, 2023 Popular Post Report Posted March 7, 2023 (edited) Really nice day. The new 6 pack was down, so it kept the crowds off of Switch and Main. Less powder on those slopes, an inch or so, so they must have groomed later than the east side. Think they expanded the bumps. Big PSIA certification day, so large groups on the slopes, they didn’t cycle thru the lift too often, so the lift line wasn’t too bad They did cut up the powder pretty fast though. The ski patrol was very nice and stayed to the very edges on their pre check, so fresh slopes for first run. Headwind up top Got there early, first in line and second chair behind stickered blue helmet guy. All set for second tracks down razors, when I hit some wind blown cord just before the lip and then buried my tips in a freshie pile and did a face plant😂 Good thing about being a geezer is that it is funny as it’s happening rather than after the embarrassment wears off. Still got tracks in the first dozen. Appreciative jlaw and DiMe didn’t spray me as they went past, but that would have taken too much time from hitting the slope, so it probably wasn’t out of their goodness of heart. I would never spray a fellow powder hound that wasnt a close deserving friend 🤣, let alone a geezer! I didn't notice a man down, I was to lost in the stoke. Say hi next time, this morning was awesome 🤟 Edited March 7, 2023 by DiMe Quote
C1erArt Posted March 7, 2023 Report Posted March 7, 2023 I was up pretty quick, no yard sale this time. I have a black front, green back helmet, and my son’s old Leki race poles. 1 Quote
Johnny Law Posted March 7, 2023 Report Posted March 7, 2023 Today was soooo nice and it's a rare day at blue where it has surpise depth. First run I went NM/DW and I almost couldn't believe it was untracked titty sparkles. It probably snowed about 2" but the wind made for deeper turns on more sheltered lines and it was a most excellent way to start the day. 7 1 1 Quote
mute1080 Posted March 8, 2023 Report Posted March 8, 2023 Def not as soft tonight as it was today. Had some sugar, glacial, and firm crud to play in tonight. Windy af and they surprised us with turning the guns on around 630. Guns at top were only filling in the Appalachian Trail and the lower guns went straight into the trees so hopefully the winds quit to make it worth it. Lazy was the ROTN and even got to share a lift with mBike and Mrs Bunski ✔️ Last pic is the unmarked 4 foot hole on lower sidewinder. 8 1 1 Quote
DiMe Posted March 8, 2023 Author Report Posted March 8, 2023 The hole was marked earlier with crossed orange poles 🤷♂️ 1 Quote

Popular Post mbike-ski Posted March 8, 2023 Popular Post Report Posted March 8, 2023 Snow, birthright beers and pizza were ok but lift riding with mute fam and skies were stellar! 10 Quote
