Popular Post JFskiDan
It was a Good Friday at Killington with @AtomicSkier @NMSKI @Johnny Law slow start to the day, started with the gondi as some stuff was on a delayed opening. Quickly after 10 or so more started opening and things got real nice real fast. i think we are going to the Bush tomorrow. Will dip into the twenties tonight, so a firm start im sure, but should warm up nice. As skitoolives says “get hard on Saturday, and stay soft on Sundays” or whatever.
Popular Post NMSKI
Was a fun day indeed. Covered quite a bit of ground and things were way softer than I expected.
Popular Post Johnny Law
Today was doooope ! Classic VT like 16 different snows on the hill, super super perfect corn and then the next turn is boilerplate, then grass, then firm groom etc etc and its all up to you to navigate. Outer limits was very very good, one run I got in a good line and it was lazy falling airplane turns all the way down. Vagabond was also very good with the perfect amount of skankiness. I think this has been the longest I've gone between visits but say what you will its a fantastic mtn. There is that millisecond in skiing where you can feel your shit going south because something unexpected has occurred in the snow. The more you ski the less it happens as you get better at predicting what to expect but I think at no mtn have I spent more time in the oh that's interesting place in seemingly non threatening terrain than Killy. Like the rodeo in Mexico it's gloriously sketchy. Proper fucking crew and a gorgeous day in the mtns.
momskeeztoo
I have fun every time I go to Killington. Too bad I had to leave yesterday, it seemed like it was going to be a great day.
JFskiDan
Spent some quality time at the Bush today. Firm start on super bravo, but once gatehouse started loading we moved over there to find some really soft snow. Played in that area for a while, then went down to the base again to find a huge lineup at super bravo. Went back over to the other side after a run there. they had springfest today, and drew a big crowd. It was pretty busy. Sunny co ditikns all fay, but chillier than yeaterday. Another real nice day with the crew.
Popular Post NMSKI
Nice soft bumps off and under north lynx were the flavor of the day. Can’t complain about anything when it’s nice and sunny. The brewskis in VT are always on point. Had to make a stop at lawsons for a little apres and we even saw some long lost PASR family members there. 9
Johnny Law
Another fire day in the Mad River Valley. I forgot how vertical the bush is but first run down heavens in the kinda stiff and I remembered. NM had called gatehouse like 2 days ago and it was prime, super soft miking it kinda turns. Super nice soft bumps and just super fun everywhere you go. The beer everywhere is redic but super glad we stopped at Lawsons both for the beer and intrigue. The rest of the crew is headed south whereas my destiny lies east across the border but it was most excellent to rip with such a fine crew. I've skied more bumps in two days than two years and there may be no higher compliment.

Looks like a super nice day. ‐--------------------------------------------- I wanted to go to Sugarloaf but when I woke up at 5 and realized I could sleep 2 more hours if I went to the River that made it easy. Score two more points for being lazy because it was le tits. Super sunny with nobody around the trails baked up to a super nice smooth corn around 10am. I rode mostly empty trail after empty trail as the river has alot of horizontal terrain. The shots are a little shorter as its like 40000 peaks but some really nice wide groomers you could uncork it on. My legs were trash from all the bumps the last couple days but I did take two on Top Gun and it was super nice soft easy airplane bump turns. It was a very very nice spring day and man I gotta get up to the river more. 10
Ski2Live Live2Ski
Nice to see you guys on your way home. Nice thing about the Crown Vic - skis fit in the trunk cross-wise. Got 23 mpg for the trip. Not too shabby for something that size. Went "off pass" this weekend at Plattekill and Belleayre, spent the night at Twilight Lodge (in Tannersville as decision to hit Belleayre instead of Hunter on Sun was made after I booked room - based on reports of not great conditions at Hunter on Sat). Still got nice deals - $25 at Platte and $48 at Belle. Next up will be Breck April 15-17 making for at least a 35 day Skison Edited April 10, 2023 by Ski2Live Live2Ski

Totally agree. what a great weekend, can hang the skis up and look back on the last 3 days and be pretty darn happy about ending my season on that note. FYI, Easter 2024 is March 31st. Magic is such a neat place. i really want to make a go of it again next year when they have more open, but damn it was some fun skiing yesterday, particullary anything that might have been considered a tad sketchy. It was a firm start, but the groomed runs were nice for the most part. Once the sun did its work, Tom headed off for some exploration and found " sketchy run #1, sketchy trees #1, and sketchy trees #2" which even with my legs being pretty beat up from the past 2 days, it didnt take much to convince me to check it out. Things were just soft enough, and im sure they would have been really soft in the afternoon, but we needed to make like a banana and split after a nice lunch on the deck with a view. The history behind Magic is a good read, and im still reading up on it. I wasnt aware the quad lift was installed quite a while ago, but has had one issue after another with a derailment, the haul rope, and some of the sheaves needing replaced, and since its been installed, i dont think it has had one person on it. Looking into the history of the place, they have never had good luck with the lifts there, the green one took like 15 years to get going. I think the place is built on an ancient indian burial ground, and they hate lifts for some reason. Also, the place went bankrupt in the 90's and was shut down for 5 years or so, so its hard not to root for the place coming back to life. I think the lady that sold me my ticket, also brought us our lunch. There is zero corporate at Magic, and there isnt much PC about the place. i love it. 6

momskeeztoo
Isn’t it usually wider. IDK, I feel like it’s usually skiable until almost under the Superstar lift.

Popular Post Johnny Law
I took Monday off originally to ski sugarloaf but my lazy ass wanted to take some time off the clock driving home and went to Stratton. From the first run down standard it was perfect, absolutely empty and super smooth perfect corn. Run after run just me and myself harvesting the corn. I ran standard top to bottom 8 or 9 times as the gondy was empty but really everything outside of captain Janeway was 11/10. This was one of the best spring trips I've ever had and I can't remember a better 4 day stretch skiing the east in a long long time. I agree if possible I would like to end my season up there. I fucking despise the end of skiing, I hate when Blue closes and I super hate when my season is getting to an end.......Winter should be 9 months long
