JFskiDan Posted February 13 Report Posted February 13 2 hrs 20 mins to blue from philly. With a stop for coffee. Then i got behind every asshole that turns their hazards on when driving in the snow. 3 Quote

Benm Posted February 13 Report Posted February 13 rough morning. went out at 7 to start the driveway but the tractor wouldn't start - even though i had it on a battery tender all night. got it jumped, but couldn't make it through the snow. took about 20 min to get the snowblower going, snow was jamming up in the auger though so it wasn't doing much. was running out of time so said fuck the driveway. walked over to the truck and noticed that i had left my passenger window all the way down all night. boots and gloves covered in snow. whatever, dust it all off and get ready to go. couldn't start the truck, 10 min later i was able to jump it. 5 min from blue but blocked by a tree. try to go an alternate route that prob would've added 20 min. blocked by another tree. i chalked it up as a loss and white knuckled it the whole way home. roads are pretty bad. i don't think anything off a state road had been plowed in 3-4 hours. back at work. highlight of my day was seeing two guys on a snowmobile with skis and a snowboard prob headed to blue which was pretty cool. they might have been able to get around the tree, i dunno tho. maybe that and i was able to get up my driveway without getting stuck. everything did not go as expected. 8 Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted February 13 Report Posted February 13 I didn’t go to Blue today, I saw that it was an hour and 18 minutes to Blue and the route I take had an accident so I bailed but will go up tomorrow AM for the frozen cord. About a foot of snow on the west side of Allentown. Took me like 15 minutes to clear off my car. I went to CVS to buy a few things but it was closed and the lot was unplowed and I almost got stuck…then went to Wawa..roads are pretty bad, a lot of snow is gonna melt this afternoon and the refreeze overnight will be epic as there’s so much water content in the snow, gonna be like a brick tomorrow am. momskeeztoo Posted February 14 Report Posted February 14 It took me 2 1/2 hours from right above Quakertown. If anyone is familiar with 309 where it turns in to I-78 West always a cluster there. Then my escape route onto 145 there also a cluster. Cars off the road everywhere. Can’t understand why folks in small cars with low profile tires even attempt to drive in this. 2 Quote

I detoured by Sheetz on 145 after another detour North of Allentown and had to stop for someone who had both lanes blocked while they fiddled with their wipers. There was a plowed lot nearby that they could have pulled into. Backroads were better than the packed ice mains. Although I had to stop for a huge gust of wind that caused a total whiteout for 45 seconds, I literally couldn’t see my hood. Yeah it’s skiing so it was worth it 😁🤟 Edited February 14 by AirheadD8 1 Quote
