2/18…sunny Sunday…

Hey All,

 

I’m back from another fun session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 720am and the temperature was in the lower teens under Sunny sky’s with moderate winds.  In the house was everybody except Toast, Justo, Zonked and Falco.  
 

Second civilian OG six pack.  I started on challenge and the left side was a little rolly polly and the right side pretty smooth.  Skied that three times then nightmare dreamweaver which was pretty nice.  Up the quad to coming soon which was pretty terrible..they blew really wet snow and did a crappy job  grooming..Main Street was nice and I skied a few laps on that then back to challenge and nightmare dreamweaver and a final run on Switchback which was ok, still a little chunky.  I didn’t ski Sidewinder because it looked bad and was bad. 
 

Crowds were a bit more than a normal weekend but not that insane…a couple minute liftline…lifts were stopping a bit. Fun parking lot, had a White Castle slider thanks to BenM, some cheese balls and a couple beers.  I ended up hanging with Matt Edge and Harold at the end and then TP4…then went into the bathroom and the line for the ladies room was like 30 people long..if you have yellow fever would be a good place to hangout..

 

When going back to my car to leave there was quite the argument apparently people who just arrived were not happy at how wide somebod parked and tried to fit into a tiny spot and guy was getting upset and arguing back and forth and almost a physical fight. I recorded some of it on my phone…then I just said,”I’m leaving just take my spot”. 
 

Im likely skiing tomorrow AM, I have work but my boss doesn’t care if I show up late.

I can't believe there was a fight over a parking spot. One time I parked my Sonic in an extremely tight spot, and I didn't even get in a brawl.

Today was good...main street Express stopped twice for a bit when I was on it but luckily I was ready with a lift beer for the second time.   Challenge and lazy were nice, was good to ride switchback a few times also

Used to have a tiny 1990 Honda civic junker. Took great pleasure in squeezing into spots in ski areas where people parked just close enough together that they thought someone couldn’t park between them. Usually high end vehicles.

I was hoping the 2 guys were gonna fight lol.  When the guy got out of his car I thought it was on

To avoid situations like that, blue needs to close the entrance to the main lot when they begin using the auxiliary lot across the street.  Wait til like 25 morning people leave then reopen the main lot.  Half the people arriving at noon go to the main lot instead of the auxiliary lot and just circle endlessly, causing traffic issues 

while the almost fight was between a 7:30am arrival and a noon arrival, there shouldn’t be noon arrivals circling the main lot to begin with

Or better yet pave the parking lot and paint lines in it.

Wow, that's progressive of you. I thought PASR's stance is that the lower lot is better bring muddy as opposed to paved.

Thanks for posting!!!  Your shadow in the screenshot makes you look like 30 feet tall radical. It felt like I was there skiing that run…I also like the on your left to the guy on falls lol

Can’t believe no one filmed it. I left around 11am, while waiting to turn left on Blue Mountain Drive, about 15 cars pulled in. Only one did not have Jersey plates.

Why not? Yesterday I had to waste 5 sheets of paper towel cleaning up the muddy mess on my shoes. I would pay extra on my season pass, like $3.50, if they would pave the lot so I don't have to clean up the muddy mess

I didn’t have a problem.. it was pretty frozen. Why should Blue waste the money? Obviously, most people don’t care, they still park there.

The summit VIP lot is paved, you could park up there to keep the dirt off your shoes.

I didn’t ski this AM..slept in until 730..off to work.
