librider Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 Well last year i had electrics. They were super trendy but the lenses sucked. Now i have orange oakley a frames and I love them. Oakley A-frames or wisdoms. The lenses in wisdoms crack at the top though. Quote
skifreak Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 Oakley A frames are the the best IMO. I used to have a pair a few seasons ago, but they either fell off or someone stole them in the lift line. Quote
romemadman Posted October 16, 2005 Author Report Posted October 16, 2005 yea i ahve been leanning towards either the oaklel a frames or wisdoms i think i will go with the a frame Quote
skierboi Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 is have wisdoms, theyre nice, but they dont fit good with my helmet , the plastic is to long on the side Quote
LineSki Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 A frames are nice, I have Wisdoms to, I like my scott gogles to. I think i'm going to get some new anon figments or electric EG1's this year. And oh yeah my lense on my wisdoms cracked to, I cant even see it though. Quote
librider Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 in the middle at the very top right? ever pair of wisdoms i see has that Quote
LineSki Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 mine was actully at the bottom left. Quote
Snoshredder21 Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 my scott goggles are pretty good....there a silver lens, got them for 40 bucks at sports authority of all places Quote
skifreak Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 The Sports Authority has a freaking big selection of ski goggles, believe it or not. They even started to carry Burton Snowboards last season. Quote
tretiak Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 i got a pair of spy targa 2's and they are pretty good and for 50 bucks i wont complain Quote
DHarrisburg Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 I've got a set of Figments, a pair of Electrics, and a couple of Smiths and I've been happy with them all. Quote
Schif Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 I've had A-frames for going on 5 seasons now. I like them and they seem to last. Quote
Justo8484 Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 you can't go wrong with a frames. i havent found anything else that comes close as far as optical clarity goes, thats for sure. they fit really nicely too. Quote
Glenn Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 My a frames are alright. I've cracked two lenses, and they got plenty of scratches. I didn't use the protective casing, and left them on my helmet, but I'm going to do that bottom line. They work well in lousy light conditions other than that they are just anti-fog lenses. I guess thats optical clarity but I'm pretty sure all goggle manufactures have the light enhancement and anit-fog lenses????? Quote
DHarrisburg Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 Oh, and I'm going to go ahead and suggest against the Wisdoms, unless you have a ridiculous amount of money to waste and like goggles that break easily. Quote
skigurl Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 (edited) i love oakleys but they don't make small enough ones, at least i can't find any small enough. i just got Smith youth ones though mainly b.c i had them before and loved them so i got another pair of them Edited October 17, 2005 by RacerChick Quote
skimom Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 K2: For color, it's hard to go wrong with amber lenses. We have clear lenses around too, for when the light is hopeless. Some goggles give you both lenses. The most important thing is to try them on to see which form the best seal with your helmet. If you are on the snow at night, your forehead will freeze if there is a gap. After that, go for price. Last winters models are still available, and cost much less. BTW, if you don't wear a helmet yet, buy oneto go with the goggles. Quote
Glenn Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 My a-frames didn't fit my helmet right, it was only bad on really cold days when I didn't bring a hood for underneath my helmet. Quote
Justo8484 Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 what i meant by optical clarity is that the curvature of the oakley lenses is much closer to that of the human eye than any other company. with other goggles, your peripheral vision starts to get blurry because the lense doesnt match the curve of your eye. its a lot more noticeable on a flat lense than it is on a spherical lense. AtomicSkier Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 This is where it's at.. EVERYTHING I'lll be wearing/skiing on will be black, red and white. No other colors...haha. Quote
Sno Mountain Skier Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 This is where it's at.. EVERYTHING I'lll be wearing/skiing on will be black, red and white. No other colors...haha. The tint has a little yellow in it. Quote
AtomicSkier Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 The tint has a little yellow in it. IT'S RED! Quote
Stevo Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 Well last year i had electrics. They were super trendy but the lenses sucked. Now i have orange oakley a frames and I love them. Oakley A-frames or wisdoms. The lenses in wisdoms crack at the top though. I have electics (EG5 maybe) and i love them. I can't really complain about the lenses, why do you think they suck? Quote
librider Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 the tint was wearing off, they scratched easily, and the mirrored ones were SUPER dark Quote
