How will the drought effect the 2025 ski season??

As we all know PA ski resorts rely heavily on snowmaking.

How will the severe drought conditions and water restrictions effect ski resorts ability to make snow?

Quotes from article above:

"The Pocono Mountains have been placed under a Drought Watch by the state's Drought Task Force."
"If conditions worsen and the state declares a Drought Emergency, voluntary water restrictions will become mandatory."

Restless skiers and snowboarders will meet at brown, barren ski resorts to duel it out over who gets to ride the gun testing patch.

Roving bands of banditos will ravage western resorts, rustling snow all the way back to PA in a modern twist on boot legging.

They will be fine, no matter the drought they will get an exemption.

As far as i know, nobody has public water for snowmaking, so i cant see how the EPA would be enforcing how someone like Blue uses the water they have on their land.

I have a house in the Poconos on a well, and havent gotten any info that says i am under any kind of drought watch, although it would be stupid to be using water all willy nilly and everything, but my water use doesnt really affect anybody else except me.  But people around me up there are simply as dumb as they come.

it has crossed my mind about Jack Frost though, they pull water out of the lehigh.  dont know if they could have some restrictions, or if they could have a problem with where their intake is, like if it is now above the water line.

Big Boulder i think could probably empty Boulder lake if they wanted to.  Might not be the best idea, but that water isnt used for drinking.  i guess some could be filtered into the ground, and trickle into wells, but its not like its the reservoir for drinking water.

Golf course's that pull water from their own retention pond can be put on water restrictions in a drought emergency, I have seen that happen in the past.

But as JL said, the ski resorts could possibly get an exemption, due to the fact that it would have a severe effect on the local economies.

IIRC you have to be able to argue your water system is completely separate from the water system of the local regulatory body in order to not comply. It makes sense as otherwise you'd just have everyone digging holes all over the place.
