Popular Post GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted December 8 Popular Post Report Posted December 8 Hey All, I’m back from another fun morning at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot before 720am and it was 33 degrees under mostly cloudy sky’s. In the house was everybody except Johnny law, Schif and Nancy. Second Civilan chair up the OG six to a very nice paradise..almost western groomer machine groomed packed powder conditions..second run a repeat of that then Midway to lower main and we saw Salty skiing down it from the lift Was ok conditions and not many people Some skied Chute which is now open and looked firm Lazy Mike is open and decent on the top 2/3 and lower section slick and narrow I went back for a few repeats on midway lower Main Street and paradise then to the lot around 930 and was a fantastic sausage Sunday with burgers dogs and pork with temperature rising through the 40s and sunnier skys JADIP 9 1 Quote
Popular Post RidgeRacer Posted December 8 Popular Post Report Posted December 8 I had to bail around 930 today but great day and a pretty damn good first 3 days at Blue mountain to kick off the year with decent conditions overall and more terrain each day. Excellent way to start the ski season! 10 Quote
indiggio Posted December 8 Report Posted December 8 Chute is firm was an understatement. It was rock-solid with cat track trenches on skiers left near the top. The bottom of Chute also choked down to a tight intersection with Midway and LMS which made for some spicy merges, carrying speed off Chute. The edges of Paradise kept getting better as the day progressed and the snow was softening up nicely, but didn't quite reach hero by 11 or so when we called it quits. Nowhere near as crowded as yesterday, so both Paradise and Burma didn't have near the load of sliders which made them treacherous yesterday around the same time. 6 1 Quote

Man that was sketchy A.F. 3 1 Quote
C1erArt Posted December 8 Report Posted December 8 Great day. Got there about 830 and left about noon. A couple of runs on Paradise and Lazy, but pretty much lapped Vista Midway, and LMS until too many Munchkins. 3 1 Quote
momskeeztoo Posted December 9 Report Posted December 9 Got there at 10. Spur of the moment decision, was supposed to hike today, but hubby has a project going, and he wanted to work on that. What a fun day! Snow was perfect, not crowded. So glad I went, seeing how they’re gonna be closed next 3 days. 3 Quote

DiMe Posted December 9 Report Posted December 9 Super solid evening session. Was gonna take today off hoping to have the place to myself in the rain tomorrow but the m-w closing announcement forced me to pull an audible and get out for a couple hours. Arrived around 3:30 to the longest lift lines of the week albeit not bad at all. Lazy certainly helped spread people out some and everything was super soft and fun. Chute was a bit smooth but softened enough to not be concern holding an edge. JADIP! 3 Quote

Mixilplix Posted December 9 Report Posted December 9 Super fun day on the skis..Again you had a mix bag of conditions on every open trail..Unfortunately I was not ready for the Katana like sharpening BC did on my edges...Whenever I got on to some early frozen cord/slick spots I was lookin like MC Hammer on crack..Crowds were pretty low but there are aways some kooks to keep you entertained... Big thanks to @enjoralas for all you do.. 5 Quote

Might want to detune the tips & tails a little after having them "tuned" to prevent the slingshot effect of them grabbing. Underfoot is where you want them sharp. Quote

indiggio Posted December 11 Report Posted December 11 (edited) Anybody stop to see the quad's bullwheel on the ground Sunday? Looks like a bunch of boxes of parts, perhaps a bearing replacement? Edited December 11 by indiggio 1 Quote

Looks like a bunch of boxes of parts, perhaps a bearing replacement? Heard from an employee on the chair on Saturday that "Something needs resurfacing" so bearing makes sense. Also makes sense why they didn't waste blowing snow on Coming Soon, useless if they can't run the quad. Otherwise I'm sure it would have been in the opening lineup 1 Quote
