GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted Saturday at 04:17 PM Report Posted Saturday at 04:17 PM Hey All, I’m back from a fun morning at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot before 720am and it was 26 degrees under cloudy skys with moderate winds. In the house were Johnny law, JFDan, Dirtwolf, Atomic Jeff, BenM, Mixilplix, PARidgeRacer, MBike Mike, Nastar Glenn, Mute, SaltyAnt, Jim, Drew, Gary, Slim, GahSkier George, Spyder, Falco, Charles, Bethlehem Ford Guy and many others. First civilian OG six pack and razors was already closed for race team. First run on Challenge and was the best it’s been this season..nice and smooth and soft cord…I repeated that three more times initially then Main Street which was decent on the top and rough lower down with new manmade snow. Coming soon was also very rough and slick. Back to challenge which was still decent, especially upper skiers right…I skied that four more times and then ended the session on Switchback which was decent. All in all pretty good snow and it was also pretty crowded. Skiing challenge was nice cause it was empty but every run the falls and homestretch were looney but I’m glad Blue is making that Johnny cash. I hungout in the lot briefly and enjoyed Xmas cookies and party mix. Now at work like a dork. Ski most of yall tomorrow. JADIP 7 Quote
RidgeRacer Posted Saturday at 05:21 PM Report Posted Saturday at 05:21 PM Got there around 9:30 today and skied with the masses. It was ok. I somehow managed an empty main run t2b on good snow which was nice. I feel like main is sort of an unsung hero this year as far as conditions go. Everything else was decent to shitty, with the shitty being wherever the sugar was deepest, mainly on the flats and run outs. @Johnny Law told me im the lot that there's some good to be found however and that was true. The best part of the day was watching the multitude of people attempting to enter the VIP gate and baffled as to why it wasn't working. I guess people just automatically assume that they're VIPs....idk. When one liftie questioned one of them, he responded with "I have Icon" thinking that would get him through the pearly gates. It didn't and hats off to the liftie who, in response, told him "that's not a blue mountain pass, you need to get in the other line". 6 Quote
Johnny Law Posted Saturday at 06:50 PM Report Posted Saturday at 06:50 PM Maybe as I haven't skied with everyone in a bit or because yesterday sucked I thought today was quite good. The first two down challenge you could really slut it up and set the charge level to plaid. Always good to have switch in the mix and the speed bump they built to slow you down makes an excellent little booter. I will always vote for lumpy side but if they don't do that it's nice to have a trail to catch some air. Everything else than NmDW is kinda warmup and while I never got it right today there is a nice ledge on the left that should make for a really nice left air right air combo. Personally I hope they never put features on it again but I'm probably smoking crack. Hopefully with some cold over night it sets up a bit nicer, you can feel the Glacier under the scratch and the scratch in certain parts didn't make 930. 6 Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted Saturday at 07:17 PM Author Report Posted Saturday at 07:17 PM Today I was trying to take it in a little bit on my last challenge runs, with @saltyant following me there was nobody until where people pop out from lazy/sidewinder before the falls..and could see at least 100 people on homestretch..and the falls of course had people everywhere so I cut hard left to lower sidewinder and wow was that sugar deep..deepest sugar I’ve skied all season..good thing I’m an agile mofo..then Central Park closed so had to play frogger crossing shuttle onto Barbs bush which was really hairy with Jerry’s….then up the super summit safari with Salty…what a day lol would only have been better if I woke up with the Burger King guy. Also there’s a worker sweeping things up outside the valley lodge who’s kind of foxy in a milfy ex Dallas cowboys cheerleader kind of way. Next time I see her I’ll find out when her break is so I can buy her cocoa with her employee discount. Quote
indiggio Posted Saturday at 07:40 PM Report Posted Saturday at 07:40 PM Holy O' Sugar Batman! I don't think I've ever seen it so deep across the entire mountain. Lazy in particular had like knee deep piles of that shit in spots. Had me wishing I'd brought my Fatypuses for all that Pocono powder! 3 Quote
Mixilplix Posted Saturday at 09:12 PM Report Posted Saturday at 09:12 PM (edited) First hour things rode great.Next hour saw things get a little feisty with the crowd and snow conditions....Switch and Side were super fun early and you could lay down some good stuff on NMDW.. RidgeRacer Posted Saturday at 11:33 PM Report Posted Saturday at 11:33 PM I'm sure. This may be the first time I've gotten into January without doing a night session. I don't see it happening either, at least until the spring. Quote

By this point last year I for sure had ridden several nights and even double dipped a few times… Quote
