GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted Sunday at 05:41 PM Report Posted Sunday at 05:41 PM Hey All, I’m back from another morning at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot before 720am and it was 24 degrees under mostly cloudy skys with moderate winds. In the house was everybody yesterday except Salty, Falco and Charles and NMSki and son were in the house along with Schifdawg. OG six pack wasn’t running initially so began on the quad and was second civilian quad to start and down challenge first which was a great beautiful cord carpet. There was a bit of a backup for second ride up the quad due to all the racers and slightly delayed opening I skied Challenge again and still real nice but by the third time it was pretty trashed with lots of cookies churned up. Main street and midway looked rough from the super summit safari so I didn’t ski then. Lazy mile had kind of uneven slick snow blown on. I repeated challenge a few more times and ended on Nightmare Dreamweaver. Aside from the first two challenge runs conditions today were pretty bad. It was a slightly warmer parking lot than yesterday with the sun emerging. All you southern folks enjoy the snowfall tomorrow..looks like just some flurries possible up here. JADIP 6 Quote
Johnny Law Posted Sunday at 06:43 PM Report Posted Sunday at 06:43 PM The first two might have been better than yesterday but it fell apart fast, everything is an icy rounded pellet and there is no cohesion. Switch I thought was best once shit was skied in but I truly think ever since covid it's just generally more busy and some days it's a lost cause. Good lot session made up for it and hopefully they get some natural and it all goes back together. 3 Quote
RidgeRacer Posted Sunday at 07:33 PM Report Posted Sunday at 07:33 PM My first 3 runs were challenge 2x and switch and was like... ok. Here we go. 9.5 out of 10. Then reality hit like a punch in the face quickly as the cookies and sugar reared their ugly heads. In addition, the carbon county dump was out in full force under the lifts. They put the eye sore giant trash cans out but the funnels aren't on them which gives people a smaller target to throw their filth at, just creating more trash and the fact that we need to line our slopes with giant trash cans speaks to a much larger problem. Not to mention the giant trash cans don't help the littering issue anyway. All in all always better skiing but I'm gradually moving from stoked that the season is here phase to crap that irks me phase. 4 Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted Sunday at 08:32 PM Author Report Posted Sunday at 08:32 PM (edited) The lower lodge was packed at 745am..second day in a row with long lines for the urinals and shitters…like four people had atomic Jeff’s parking spot today as well..maybe a quick check of the webcams for shits and giggles. I’m also wondering how many gallons of cocoa Blue serves up on a day like this. It has to be monumental. While crowds were heavy, still not peak…no parking lot attendants and only a handful of cars parked across the street when I rolled out at Noonish Edited Sunday at 08:33 PM by GrilledSteezeSandwich 1 Quote
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted Monday at 12:37 AM Author Report Posted Monday at 12:37 AM @saltyant for the first time I stood right by the entrance to the adventure center in the valley at Blue but the door was locked. The base village at Blue is incredible and I didn’t even walk around the entire thing. I still haven’t found rays grill on skis but wondering if the Burma road tubular meat stand accepts blue bucks be Dogecoin Quote
Mixilplix Posted Monday at 01:29 AM Report Posted Monday at 01:29 AM I'm the odd ball here, but I thought this morning was kinda nice. Switch was fun but at the merge on to LM it was a little spicy with some granola clusters to go through. NMDW you could really go for big turns through the top section. Like Switch it had the same stuff at the merge on to LP. Sidewinder was good for a few laps too. TCS was pretty slick and uneven. Driving to Blue you could tell it was gonna be a busy day.. 4 Quote
