C1er and BFG crew in the house featuring special appearance the Glenn Experiance.

Sunny and deliciously empty, I had figured it would be more of the weekend and started a few minutes late because I'm an idiot and wore a different jacket.

Everything seemed soft and super nice but I wasn't buying any of it until about a 1/3 of the way down main. Full grip, easy turning cream cheese on top of a wet hard base made for super fast super fun mega slutty arcs. Switch and Raceway were more of the same though a bit harder and midway was ratty from the start somehow.

When I switched sides of the hill I ran into Glenn and we put rail road tracks down Challenge, Razors, side and coming soon. While not as nice as main all were more spring like hero snow under blue skies and super sun.

My favorite condition is empty bleachers and the best part of the day was all the goof balls were not skiing. Multiple times I'd go main and Glenn switch or similar so that both of us could have the trail to ourselves......I wish the eagles could play in the super bowl everyday

Sketchy lift rumors, I rode up with two snowboard psia master dudes I've never seen before who said they are disconnecting coming soon from pdis. I was highly skeptical but if true that would be a massive improvement.

Looks like that intersection is only going to get worse with CS still dropping into it per the snowmaking map. I can't even see how to could go around it.

How is this possible? Would they cut a new trail from CS to bypass Dis?

yeah there isn't really any route that looks good. they'd have to fight the pond, tubing and some other set of manmade ponds.

maybe it's in the 'nearish' term to drop another lift there (on your img where cs would be going if it went straight down). the topography of that clearing at the top is a high point on the mtn, so it makes sense why it just looks like a landing.

my thinking is that the quad is prob on borrowed time and they might want to get ahead of a problem. adding another lift would allow the quad to become a dedicated bike lift, giving it some downtime (ie a break) for half the year.

i don't think it's impossible to get it done by next season, but i doubt its happening -- unless they've learned how to squash the rumors like when the new sixer was being added.

Who will be spearheading this operation?  the company that wants to sell it because they cant put a hotel up top, The lady that sold it, "that wants to buy it back", or some new owner?

Personally i think someone around the age of Becky Boo, or Enjo's kids are the ones that might be remotely possible to ski those conceptual trails on the left of that map.

I do love me some good lift rumors though.  gives us something to talk about.

They said it goes on the other side of the pond, I said that would require another lift but they were adamant it did not. They also seemed to think the timing was soon which again would require some kind of impact study to have been completed, at least I think.

I would not have reported it except they were very confident and they did something at blue.

What I truly want is to start a rumor and then have it come back to me but I need to think up a good rumor.

Had the opposite experience. First run down Razors was perfect. TCS and Challenge also great first thing.

BTW, was told the boarder that wiped out on Razors last Monday morning is home from the hospital and will heal up OK.

It was good I'm sure no matter what you started on and i am impressed with how fast they get it decent after icing events.

That's most excellent to hear, it takes alot to make me think twice but that one slowed me down for sure.

According to the guy skiing with him, he hit one of the ramps wrong, got launched, went through the first of the double fence and stopped tangled in the second fence. He did have broken vertebrae in his neck, but will recover ok.  I hit the ramps for the first time today carrying some speed, but was careful to pre jump them.

I have forever wanted to do that.  I should have tried harder with the alterra/elk thing. You know you are big time if it makes it to alpo zone or reddit.

They're in a bad spot and from what I hear, not marked at all by SP.
The light is typically flat in that area which makes the rollers disappear until you're on them.

If they're going to leave them overnight and open Razor's to the public in the morning, the rollers need to be painted or marked by a lollipop or sticks.

They love riding their snow mobiles all over so why not just ride them up razors...

Tbh I always look at that on razors and wonder if / when someone hits it the wrong way what would happen. Sounds terrible and I hope the person is ok. As much as I like the rollers on side. The flat light can really throw someone off there too. Hopefully no one else gets hurt.

The light is flat everywhere in the AM, these things are kind of an issue.  i do like the "Brighton - esque" stuff they put on Sidewinder, but i went down that Saturday pretty much trying to do a recon mission that since i really didnt know where they were, and ended up catching one with just a little bit of air and landing on a second just before the lip, and that was a little uncomfortable on the feet for sure.  i had no idea about the one on Challenge and rolled the windows up pretty good on that one too.

Oh, and even if NMDW has the best snow, there is so much park crap on that now its the dumbest trail on the mountain.

just for fun, i looked at this on GE.  I mean, they could do this, (in Red), but thats a shit ton of work, and it would wipe out that little hike park or learning center what ever that is.  it doesnt make sense to do all this work and connect it back to P-dise at the pond.  it cant go around the pond the other way, unless tubing isnt there any more.  if it hooks left and goes in between tubing and the ponds, that area is basically flat VIA topography/elevation map.  If they didnt have snowmaking on skier right of P-dise, they cold just mow down the trees on the right some, and make it Snowbasin wide.

I can think of like 100 other things Blue needs to "fix" before doing this, so to me just none of this makes any sense to me, but, we are talking about Blue, so.......

Rumors/lift talk has been that since they acquired the plot of land across the street, they were going to move tubing over there and then make the entire lower area a town complex, complete with all the resort amenities.

But then again, it'll probably be sold by then...

I hope they implement a water park, paved parking lots, paid parking, a hotel house lodge, bring in a camel mascot, and rename the mountain "Camelback Jr." That would be rad

That isn't a rumor, that has been true for a while.

Yep, i remember that talk as well.  And putting tubing over there is a great idea in my opinion.  But think of the massive undertaking that would be.  Permits, Grading, electric, pipe, water, buildings, etc.  huge.
